Get A Life, Man!!!

It did not take until today to realize this. I have known it for some time but for whatever reason I decided to Blog about it. It doesn't bother me that much but I figured it would be a fun topic to discuss.

First let me tell you a little bit about what means the most to me. What makes me happy and what little makes me sad. What makes me sad??? I would have to say dying. Death is a very sad occasion. Whether it a family member, a friend, an acquaintance, or even someone I don't know. Dying is just sad period. No getting around it. Seeing my daughter upset makes me sad to. That's about it. Life is short. So why be upset over petty shit.

What makes me happy. My wife. My daughter. My family. My friends. My co-workers. A nice day on the golf course. Doesn't take much to make me happy.

Now let me get on with it. It perplexes me to see how certain individuals wrap their whole lives around their favorite sports team and/or athlete.

As I'm sure most of you know Lebron James made his return to Cleveland last night. How could you miss it. If you turned on a sports station (tv or radio) yesterday or today then that was the whole talk of the day.

The media is comparing King James leaving to a bitter divorce or breaking up with a serious boy/girlfriend.

I watched the highlights of the game today. Funny to see 60000 people so emotional and irate over Lebron. Really makes one wonder how someone can be so crazy over Lebron.

Then theirs the poor Boise State kicker. The guy and his family have been getting death threats and harassing messages because of his missed kicks.

What in the hell is wrong with some people?

The only way I become that upset is you fuck with me or my family. Who gives a flying shit about Lebron James or Boise State. Hello people... it's a game. Just a game. The outcome has no actual physical effect on you.

So let me give you a piece of advise. Get over it already and Get a Life, Man!!!

Take all that negative energy and put towards bettering your already obvious, pathetic life.

  1. Well put...I was listening on Mike and Mike this morning, and they were talking about a part of the game where the Cavs center Vara-something hugged Lebron or something. They were talking about how insensitive that was to the fans, that there would be backlash for his actions. Seriously??? Now I am a DIEHARD Orioles fan, and I do get bothered when players spurn the O's for other teams (See Teixera, Mark) But obsessing over it to the point of throwing batteries at the dude, or leaving death threats. None of that has anything to do with being a fan...They also said the Cleveland teammates should be upset with him because him leaving was basically saying "You're not good enough to play with". NO SHIT!!! That's exactly what he is saying. They got in the playoffs 3 straight years, played like garbage and expected King Lebron to rescue them. I, for one, have zero issue with him leaving Cleveland for a better chance to win. Isn't that what being a free agent is all about? It kills me the way the media is making this guy out to be a villian. Because he wants to WIN??? I thought you play to win the game?!? I'll be honest, most of the media coverage in sports today makes me wanna hurl.

  2. I admittedly care more than i should about my favorite sports teams. I yell at the TV when they are playing like shit, or calls are made that i have no clue in the word why they are made (ANDY REID). I sometimes may be in a bit of a bad mood when the Eagles lose but quickly get over it.

I know i shouldnt care that much about a game but its something i enjoy and i probably wont stop being that way. With that said i would never care that much about one of my star players wanting to play somewhere they feel is better for them. WHO CARES. they dont want to be there so why want them there. I couldnt imagine waiting months paying over $100 just to boo a person. Even the philly fans didnt care this much when Reggie White left and 90% of them are complete assholes. I thought it was funny how Lebron was booed but at the same time i wouldnt have cared if they gave him a standing ovation. He didnt deserve either. Your right though Buck, i understand how some people can get rapped up into their favorite teams more than they should but their is no reason to care this much.

As for the Boise kicker, i feel sorry for him. Yes i am glad Boise lost but i do feel bad when the blame is put on one person for something the whole team contributed to. I think they should take all the people threatening this guy and make them kick the same FG's. If they make both give them a prize if they miss both kill them. Hey if they feel he deserves to die for missing those FG's then they should also.
