Tonight kicks off the NFL season. Enjoy your football this year because there is still a chance that next year this time there could be a lockout. Since kickoff is tonight, Frank is going to layout hius 10 bold predictions for this year. Here they are:
1. The New York Football Jets will not make the playoffs. With all the hype and Hard Knocks, this team still lacks a QB and I think the Miami SnowFlakes step up and take the division this year.
2. The Lions will not finish last in their division this year. That honor will go to the Bears and Jay Cutler will either spend half the year hurt or set a record for most INT's thrown in a season.
3. The Redskins will make the playoffs. You heard me, I think the defense will be a top 5 defense and carry the team to the playoffs
4. The Vikings will miss the playoffs and finish 8-8. Incase you havent noticed they play a brutal schedule, even more brutal the Notre Dame (sorry Commish, couldn't resist) and with a QB that will be applying for Social Security next year, I think they struggle especially with his top weapon in the passing game out for at least 6 weeks
5. The Ravens will win their division but lose in the first round of playoffs. With everyone saying how good the Ravens are they do not make the deep run in January that everyone is predicting.
6. The Saints will not repeat. They make payoffs but do not have a recond good enough to get home field and lose on the road in the playoffs.
7. The Cowboys fail to make playoffs. After predicting that the mighty Redskins finish second in division, I predict the Cowboys finish third and Jerry is so mad he fires Wade and names himself as his replacement.
8. The 49ers make it to NFC championship, they play in a weak division and manage to get a first round bye in the playoffs
9. Someone pulls a lock of Troy Palamalu's hair out and he is so devastated that he falls into a deep depression and misses the rest of the season.
10. Finally my super bowl prediction, the Colts over the Packers in an epic shootout, one for the ages

Since you secretly like to call yourself "Peyton", why am I not surprised to see you predict the "Should Be Baltimore" Colts to not only make the playoffs, win the AFC, but also win the whole sha-bang! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pro team is the Dolphins. I'm hoping they have done enough and stay away from injury to make a playoff run.
I hate the sell out Vikings and Brett.
.....oh and by the way....Phil still sucks
Not bad but i do see alot of love for the 49ers and Colts. So i shall even it out with some Eagle talk. I will respond to your 10 then add a couple.
ReplyDelete1. I do believe the Jets make the playoffs, but dont make the AFC championship. Defense isnt as good as the Ravens were when they carried the team they need the Offense to step up.
2. I agree that the Bears and Cutler suck this year.
3. Redskins dont make the playoffs finish 8-8, they have a tougher time with the 3-4 and whos gonna play NT with Albert gone, thats a big position in that D.
4. I could see the Vikes going south, but Childress isnt like his old buddy Andy he will pound the ball with AP and Toby behind that horse line as long as Favre doesnt change the plays. could sneak in playoffs.
5. I agree 100% with ravens, their secondary sucks and even when Reed comes back it still wont be great, and a playoff team will pick those Corners apart.
6. Saints barely make the playoffs but that Defense they had last year will not repeat itself.
7. The Cowboys Defense is real good, just think Romo and that Oline will keep them on the field alot and wear them down. Eagles win that division (no reason other than im hoping that)
8. Cant argue with 49ers possibly making the NFC championship. they play in the Henlopen South so they should go 6-0 or 5-1 and get a good seed in the playoffs, and if the D steps up and they use that bug line to run behind watch out.
9. Troy wont mind his hair is insured for 1 million, he may be the one to pull it out and get a nice little bonus.
10. Ill get back to it.
11. Defensive player of the year comes from the Eagles, just cant decide if it will be nate Allen or Branden Graham.
12. Wes Welker doesnt know what to do without the ref in the middle of the field to use as a pick and his numbers drop big time.
13. Thought this would be the year for Houston step up and win the Division but they lose they roided LB for 4 games and got rid of their best CB but ill still give them a Wild Card spot.
14. Pete Carrol cant figure out how to win when you pay players less then he did at USC and quits after one year.
15. Superbowl
I would like to see Eagles vs Ravens but since i think Philly is a year well two years away since they might not play next year and i picked the Ravens to lose early in playoffs this prediction wont work.
Secondly i would love to see the Cowboys make it their and lose it their own stadium, just dont think they would make it.
Im going with a Frank title game. 49ers vs Colts and Colts winning.
Da Booth I really like that title game and it certainly would not hurt my feelings if thats the way it shakes out.
ReplyDeleteI like the Texans as well and I have a gut feeling that they may finally beat the Colts in week 1.
As far as the Eagles go, they really do intigue me this year. I am curious to see how Kevin Kolb looks and I really wish that they would make some committment to a run game because I think if they had balance on offense over the years they may have been able to make deeper runs in the playoffs. Plus having a run game would also help Kolb but I think they do have a chance to be really good this year and the same chance to be bad at times.
The same can be said about the 49ers, they play in such a week division that there is no excuse not to make the playoffs. I just hope Frank Gore can hold up because he is going to carry the ball alot this year and he seems good for at least one injury a year.
