It's clear to see that in the summer months the blogging slows down. Some of us have newborn children (Mass), busy summer jobs (Keep it Rollin), vacations, (leaving for one tomorrow), family festivals, picnics, beach, etc... It's just a busy time of year.
Not to mention that there really isn't a lot of sports to blog about.
ESPN "Mike and Mike" are still covering the NBA and Lebron. MLB is in the middle of the season and playoff races have yet to heat up (can anyone say too long of a regular season), local baseball teams are eaither out of the playoff races or just barely hanging on (Phils). And football is still a month away.
I propose a summer golf outing for the blog. It may be hard for all to attend, but even if most could find some time to have some fun. I will be in Myrtle Beach for the next 8 days laying by either a pool or on the beach. Maybe I'll blog in while away.

Big Yawwwwwwwwwn
I blog this knowing I'm gonna get beat up by the too young to know better bloggers out there.
The All Star Home Run Derby.
These hitters get to bring their own batting practice pitcher....have that pitcher throw straight pitches of no more than 65mph......right to where they discuss is where the batter likes it......
If you really want to impress me have a "real" pitcher throwing "real" fastballs....no breaking stuff...but real 90+mph fastballs....then we'll have a true HR derby.
And why does ESPN think everyone wants to hear rap music all that time. How bout something else coming back from commercials. And how about the music in the stadium? Guess gangster rap is in at All Star games?

I don't understand?
A couple of months ago Michael Vick spoke at a local sports function addressing the need to take care in life, stay out of trouble, and speak of how his trials and tribulations have changed his life.
It seems like the only one not listening to Vick was Vick himself... Involved or not, Vick has been engulfed in yet another illegal activity. This time a shooting at a club in Virginia Beach. The shooting took place around 1am and during a birthday party for Vick. By the way, the Bday party was a shameless self promotion by Vick as he actually sold tickets for $30 a piece to attend.
Vick claimed he was gone around half hour before the shooting took place. Security cameras from the club actually recorded Vick present at least within 2 minutes of the shooting. Maybe Vick was gone, but why lie about when you left? All that does it make you doubt anything he has to say. (If you really needed another reason)
Rumor has it that Vick's brother, Marcus was involved. Supposedly there was a Bday cake and when Vick's girlfriend went to feed him a piece another buddy pushed her hand and smashed the cake into Vick's face. (Side note: the buddy was another defendent in the dog fighting case and was deeply involved in that situation.) I guess Marcus wasn't going to stand for his Bro being disrespected, went got his piece, came back and popped a few caps. Oh what a wonderful culture that african-american one is. (That sounded pretty racists, huh?)
Why? Why are you hanging out with other people involved with the dog fighting? WHy are you at a club at 1am? Why is your brother carrying a firearm when you have a troubled past? Why's he carrying a firearm period? Why are you having a Bday party and charging $30 to attend when you have a million dollar contract? With the trouble with the law past why would you even put yourself in a situation to hang with the same people? I don't understand, but then again I don't understand how you do anything to get in serious trouble with the law.
Next time you speak Mike do more than just complete a community service need to improve your fake image. Listen to the actual words you speak. We'll see what unfolds further with this situation. Maybe Roger Goodell will come down on Vick again. If involved, Vick will surely be banned from the NFL for life. While not good for his life, that may be the best scenerio for all the other youth out there who bought Vick Eagle jerseys this past year.
