First, the golf classic:
According to the info I have, Team Teeter Totter wil be wearing BLACK. Breakout your black golf shirt. Team FIGJAM will be wearing white. Looks like it's gonna be the battle of the darkside vs the light.
Times have been changed slightly so make note! Be there and unloaded by 8:30am as the first tee time is 9:30AM!!!! We have opening ceremonies, info/format session and tourney group photo.
Keep in mind the night before, Friday the 7th, for a cocktail party to unveil seeded pairings for each format.
Now.....
Again, I am reminded why I pay no attention the NHL regular season or to the NBA at all.
When more than 1/2 the teams in a league make the playoffs the regular season really means zilch! Take the Eastern Division 8th seeded Canadiens upsetting the Capitals. The Caps just so happened to have the best record in the NHL. Then the 7th seeded Flyers beat the #2 NJ Devils. Again, I understand fans want their team to make the playoffs, but come one, do we need 82 games to get to this point?
Now to the NBA.....I have a problem with calling fouls or should I say, not calling fouls.... They don't even keep it a secret anymore that there are two sets of rules. 1 for the average player and 1 for the superstar. I was listening to ESPN radio this week and the guy being interviewed was complaining that Dwight Howard of the Magic was getting called for too many fouls. He said that some fouls while trying to block shots were uncalled for. He claimed the refs should not call him for a foul when he makes "body" contact with the shooter. That Howard has "earned" the right not to be called. That's ridiculous. You either have a rule or you don't. Ever think about how many NBA series's go the 6 to 7 games. How it seems that the home team wins 90% of all home playoff games? Take the Lakers and Thunder. Lakers dominated the 1st two games in LA then all of a sudden get beat 2 games in Oklahoma City. Then back to LA where the Lakers win again.
Hmmmmmm?
Add that to the 4-17 Orioles and that's why I've been watching the Nats.

That color selection makes since. The match hasnt even started yet and you guys are already throwing in the white towell.
ReplyDeleteYes... I have officially changed the team color of Team FIGJAM's shirts from orange to WHITE.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the sudden change but my assistant captain (Fritz) suggested orange would not be a easy color to come by for most of the team members.
I assumed orange shirts would be overflowing in everyones' closets being you guys are such committed Orioles fans.
Hope everyone is getting prepared for next Saturday.
DA Booth... In many Eastern cultures the people wear white for days of mourning and/or funerals. Just want to be prepared for Team Teeter Totter's "services" following the tournament.
Fritz... Any way we can get a Preacher to come to the after party??
