Spring is Coming and so is Baseball
Beautiful weather is on the way and there are more sports to be played than Golf. Baseball starts Sunday night and more importantly the Orioles start next Tuesday on their quest for their 13th straight losing season. I hold out hope for a .500 team this year, but I think the odds of me using my SW all day in TOTW golf classic is greater. But here are my ten predictions for the O's this year.
1. Markakis will finally get to an All Star game
2. Matusz will win 15 games and be the rookie of the year
3. Brian Roberts will battle his back all year long and have less than 20 steals
4. Mike Gonzalez will have at least 2 stints on the DL
5. Wieters wil hut 25 HR and have 100 RBI
6. Luke Scott will get traded because...
7. Felix Pie will be full time LF by end of year
8. Garett Atkins will hit .275 with 20 HR's
9. Tejada will have 180 hits and 150 will be singles
10. Tejada will lead the league in hittting into double plays

The Big Easy
With today's Palmer Invitational finish, Ernie Els has now won 2 of the last 3 PGA tournaments. I'm glad to see Big Ernie back. He's good for the Tour and the game of golf.
Ernie is a 2-time U.S. Open winner and has 1 British Open. 18 PGA Tour victories and 44 International wins to his credit, Els has slumped the last couple of years, but is now back center stage. Could he be the favorite at Augusta or is he peaking 2 weeks too early?
Els is well liked by the other players, has a severly autistic son and heads a foundation for autism.
With Tiger back at The Masters and if Els can continue his play, we could be in for a great event!!!! Now if only Phil can drive the ball in the fairway and make a 3 foot putt......

ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WORD OF CAUTION !!!!!
Fellow Bloggers,
I wanted to make everyone aware of some recent information that was brought to my attention.
Criminals are finding new, improved, and sneaky ways of committing their crimes and I thought I would share new developments with you.
This is not a joke !!!! Please let your family and friends know so they won't succumb to any of these tactics.
Most of these "incidents" have been reported by surrounding police agencies and passed on to DSP for our benefit. As of this time I have not heard of any of these incidents occurring in the immediate area(s).
1) Reports of recent gang initiations where "pledging members" place a baby car seat, with a fake baby inside, along the shoulder of the roadway. It is usually placed in a secluded area near tree lines. Once the motorist stops (usually women are targeted) to check the car seat the offenders come from a hidden location or woods. The victim is pulled into hiding and assaulted, robbed, and/or raped.
Do Not Stop to check. Note your location and call 911.
2) If you happen to be driving at night and your windshield is struck by eggs, Do Not use your windshield wipers With Water Spray to remove the egg. Water mixed with egg becomes very milky and can cause vision to be blocked by more than 90%. This causes the operator to stop along the roadside and are then robbed by those who threw the eggs.
Do Not use water with wipers and drive to a safe, well lit area to clean up your vehicle. Call 911 to report the incident.
3) Another tactic is used at shopping centers. When the victim returns to there vehicle, and is about to leave, they observe a note taped to the back window. Like most we open the door, with the vehicle running, and go to the rear of the vehicle to investigate the note. While at the back of the vehicle someone slips into your driver's seat and drives away with your car.
Do Not get out of your vehicle and drive to a safe area to remove the note. (Preferably home). Call 911 to report the incident.
4) "Fishing"..... Scam used by thieves to retrieve your credit card/ATM card information. Devices are placed over the card scanning area where you swipe your card. The device looks like it is part of the machine and can be placed on ATMs, convenience store scanners, etc... The offender then removes the device and has all your credit card information. For debit cards they will stand behind you and read your PIN number as you type it in.
Use your card(s) at respectable locations and check the machines' scanning areas before using our card.
5) WalMart Scam.... Register attendants will choose cash back option even though you don't want it. Then pocket the money after you have left the line or pass it to an accomplice in line behind you. Most of us don't check our receipts or bank accounts and probably wouldn't miss 20 or 40 dollars. Bit it adds up if it is done a lot.
Check your receipts.
Be careful out there. There are a lot of bad people waiting to do bad things to the unsuspecting.
In the future I will make sure to pass on any information that may help you in making you and your family more safe.

TOTW Golf Classic
Update info on the "Golf Classic"...
Don't forget, the tourney is May 8th at Heritage Shores Golf Course. Starting time will probably be around 10a.m. TBD
So far here is the list of player committments:
1. FRITZ
2. The Buck
3. Da Booth
4. Mass-Debator
5. Keep It Rollin
6. Frank the Tank
7. Anonymous
8. Chief 77
9. Motorman
Have not heard word from #10 Bottle Service!!!!!!! If you're still out there PLEASE REPLY.
This would give 10 players which would make two 5-man teams. Even # works, but will have to come up with a different middle 9 format instead of 2-man team alternate shot.
12 works nice, but I don't just want "Fillers" who either aren't logged on the blog or questionable about showing up.
Myself, The Commish, will have a meeting with the team captains, The Buck and Da Booth to divide up teams. I believe we have enough players with the same play range to make things work without instituting handicaps.

The British are coming!!!!!!

Miss England/British Solider
I think i found something the British army has thats better than the USA. Their is one complaint i have about her. She is asking they stop having the swinsuit portion of the pagent and replacing it with some sort of athletic competition. Now it would be funny to see them doing that. Wouldnt you like to see "The Chiefs" favorite Miss Delaware having to do something athletic. How about a compromise, they do the competition in their swimsuit.Say it again!!!!!!
Amatuers invade Augusta National!!!!
When thinking of and developing poll questions for the blog, I try to think of interesting and though provoking topics. The past couple have been interesting. In a sense the answers help us see the world of your fellow bloggers and their viewpoints.
The latest poll was in regards to how one of us would play at Augusta National. So far we have a few answers.......My hope was that we each would give it some serious thought and sit back and be honest on our games. What I got so far was serious thought and honest views on how some of us "think" our games are.....
Yes, The Buck, I mean Augusta during tournanment conditions.....
Follow me on this train of thought:
Let's assume you just shot an 82 at Heritage Shores, Bay Club, or Bear Trap. Great round of golf! Fun day.
Now, keep in mind Augusta is playing about 1,000 yards longer than any of those courses we normally play from. 1,000 yards is like 2 more par 5! I'm gonna give you credit for 10 more strokes which would be the equivalent of parring 2 more par 5s. Now your 82 has become a 92......
In order to shoot 82 you probably had no 3-putts. Probably 26 putts total. That's 1 putting 10 holes and 2 putting the other 8. Do you think you're going to 1 putt 10 holes at Augusta? If you do, go play the lottery.
I'm going on a limb here and assume you 2 putt at least 8 of those 10. (That's more than fair on those greens!) That's 8 more strokes taking that 92 to 100!.......
Now, is anyone here going to tell me that aren't going to 3-putt any green at Augusta? The pros think they've accomplished something when they don't 3-putt at least 1 hole a round there. So I'm saying you're going to have at least 1 and probably 2 3-putt holes. Now you're at 102.......
Then we turn to the fairway lies. Around here all our fairways are mostly flat giving us fair lies to hit from. At AUgusta it's not uncommon to have a lie where the ball is a foot above or below your feet. Are you going to lead me to believe that you're going to have an "82" like ball striking day with the elevations and added difficulty in lies? I'm adding at least 5 more strokes for bad lies and probably not hitting it off a hanging lie the same way as a flat lie. Now you're at 107.......
That's a 107 assuming you hit the ball as well there as a day around here shooting 82.!!!!!!!!
Being honest if you normally shoot 80 - 90, I say 95 to 110 at AN. 90 - 100 here I say equals 115 -125 at AN.
Just my opinion and I include myself in this analysis.

The Monster "BRACKETSTEIN"!!!!
Unless you're able to see the future or lying, you're probably like me and out of a March Madness tourney pool. Yeah there can only be 1 winner in a pool, but hey it's only been 3 days into the tournament!!!!!!! I'd feel better if it was Next sunday and be eliminated!!!!
This tourney has been different then any in the past....Sure, every year there's at least 1 upset or at the least a couple of games won by a lower seed over a higher, but after 3 days this year we've seen a decade of games won by low seeds. Case in point:
#9 Texas over #8 Wake Forest
#11 Washington beat #6 Marquette
#10 Mizzou over #7 Clemson
#11 Old Dominion over #6 Notre Dame Irish
#10 St Mary's over #7 Richmond AND #2 Villanova!
# 13 Murray St over #4 Vanderbilt
#10 Georgia Tech over #7 Oklahoma St.
#14 Ohio upset #3 Georgetown
#9 N. Iowa over #8 UNLV THEN THE PANTHERS TOOK OUT OVERALL #1 Kansas Jayhawks!
The pool I'm in has 17 people participating. Out of that 11 had Kansas winning it all!!!!!!
The so-called experts kept saying this year's "At Large" teams were the weakest group in history...O really???
Now I'm still not ready to annoint St Mary's, et al as the champ cuz we still have Syracuse, Kentucky, and Ohio State still left. (Course that could change by tonight) One of these or another large school team will probably win it all, but are you confident right now to say who?
I think this just goes to show that fielding a competitive BBall team is easier on the college level than a football or baseball team. You only need 5 level 1 to 2 players and at least 2 serviceable players off the bench. Sure, if Kansas plays N. Iowa 10 times Kansas probably wins at least 8 out of 10, but as the saying goes "any team can beat any other team on any given day"
Thanks for the donation.....

The DEVIL Went Down to Georgia!!!
Ben Roethlisburger is a dumb ass!!! Regardless of innocence or guilt, this guy really is stupid and puts himself in bad situations.
Lets see.... I am a 2 time Superbowl winner and a NFL star. Where should I go this week - South Beach? Na.... Las Vegas? Nope... What about LA??? To Hot!!!
Wait a minute... I heard Milledgeville, Georgia is the place to be. Posse up guys, we role in five.
This would be the equivalent of Ben flying to Delaware and hanging out at Park Place in Milford.
So our first bad decision is to go to Milledgeville and party with all the Georgia College & State University kids. (These aren't the Bulldogs or the Yellowjackets)
Then I go bar hopping and get blasted on some Kazbegi Hunter beer and JD.
Gotta piss and I take a chick with me to the bathroom. She thinks she is just going to help me find the way but I know better.
I've persuaded her to come into the bathroom with me and now it's time for me to thread the needle.
Chick ain't playing ball so I help her out a little by accidentally dropping my cock on her hand. S
Then I start groping her all over and she really digs it... I think... what do I care, I'm Big Ben and I've done this before (Allegedly).
What happens next I don't know. My off duty police officer buddies and my o-lineman are rushing me out of the coolest bar in the world.
As we peel out of there about 10 cop cars pass us heading towards the bar.
I don't know what the hell is going on. Then I look down and my dick is hanging out of my pants and I got a part of some chicks bra in my hand.
I think... Oh Shit, not again!!!
Where can I go next week? I here Bell Buckle, Tennessee is the shit!

THE 1986 MASTERS RE-LIVED!!!!
For those of you too young to remember, the 1986 Masters Tournament was the best ever! The participants included the likes of Seve Ballestaros, Tom Kite, Greg Norman, Tom Watson, and, of course, JACK NICKLAUS.
In 1986 Jack Nicklaus was a living legend. Already a victor in 19 majors including the Masters 5 times. He still held the tournament record 271, which he set in 1965.
But, by 1986 JACK was 46 years old and well past his golfing prime. Everyone knew it, including Nicklaus who had spent more time concentrating on business ventures and looking forward to the Senior Tour. JACK had not won the Masters in 11 years or any tourney in 2 years. Matter of fact, he stood at 160th place on the PGA money list. Out of the first 7 tourneys of the year he had missed the cut 3 times! Heck, anybody realized he was too old to compete with the new flashy group on Tour. When NICKLAUS had won his 1st Masters in 1963, Greg Norman was 13, Tom Kite was 5, and Seve 8!
A week before the '86 Masters the Atlanta Journal-Constitution called JACK "washed up and through". At first JACK agreed, but then the competitive juices began to flow.
"I kept thinking all week, 'Through, Washed Up, huh? I said to myself, 'I'm not gonna quit
now playing the way I'm playing. I've played too well, too long to let a shorter period of
bad golf be my last."
The first 2 rounds were ho-hum. 74 and a 71. His putting was bad. During Friday's round he only sank 1 out of 11 putts under 15 feet. In the CBS TV booth, announcer Ken Venturi was quoted, "Jack's got to start thinking about when it's time to retire."
In comparison, Seve shot a 68 Friday for a 1 shot lead after 2 rounds. Nick Price putted his way to a new course record 63 Saturday. And The Shark, Greg Norman, had shot 70-72-68 for the 3 round lead. Going into Sunday JACK was sitting in 9th, 4 shots back. There were 6 golfers between NICKLAUS and Norman.
Early Sunday morning JACK's son, Steve, asked, "Pop, what's it gonna take to win?". NICKLAUS replied, "66 to tie, 65 to win". "65"!!!!!!! That's a great score at Augusta. Let alone from a 46 year old.
As Sunday began to unfold, JACK didn't improve his lot. He missed 4 foot putts on #'s 4 and 6. After the ninth hole JACK was still 2under but now 5 shots back of Norman. Can you believe the director of the CBS TV broadcast had even ordered his crew to not even show NICKLAUS' round and to concentrate on the young guns!
When Seve bogeyed number 9, THE GOLDEN BEAR made his THIRD birdie in a row at #11. With one hole into Amen Corner, JACK was now just 2 shots behind and a buzz began to filter through the tree lined fairways of AUGUSTA NATIONAL. The BEAR was charging!!!!!!!!
Hiccup bogey 4 on the par 3 twelfth put JACK back to 3 behind. It was a great run while it lasted most thought. Reality has just peeked it's ugly head most thought.
NICKLAUS stood on the tee of the par-5 13th hole. The very heart of Amen Corner. He pulled a 3 wood and cut the corner so close to the trees that his son, Steve, thought it wouldn't make it. It did..Standing in the fairway, JACK peered into his bag.....what to hit???? .........3-iron to 30 feet!!! Two putt birdie and back to 2 back.
But Ballesteros was a genius. Those too young to have seen him play, do yourself a favor and get ahold of some footage. He knocked a 6 iron within 8 feet and made his SECOND eagle of the day! NICKLAUS was now 4 shots off the lead and was on hole #15! Sportswriters were already in the process of typing their Monday morning articles on how Seve had won the green jacket......
By now JACK was on the 15th tee. He banged a 298 yard drive and had 202 left. Don't forget number 15 par-5 has water protecting the whole front of the green. No duffs allowed! .....JACK turned to his other son, Jackie who was also his caddie, and asked, "You think a '3' would go very far here?" JACKIE replied, "Let's see it!"
Jack pulled the 4 and flushed it to 12 feet, made the putt for the '3' eagle and jumped to TWO BACK.
Word had spread through the galleries and now hordes of fans gathered at JACK's holes. Cheers could be heard by every golfer on the course. As NICKLAUS walked slowly from the 15 green to 16 tee box, the roar was like a rolling wave of thunder!
As he stood on 16 tee waggling his club, CBS announcer Jim Nantz asked former NICKLAUS foe, Tom Weiskopf, what JACK must be feeling. Weiskopf replied, "If I knew how JACK felt, I might have won this
tournament!"
Just as Seve was about to hit his 2nd shot on 15 a huge roar went up from 16. JACK had just stuck his tee shot within 3 feet.
Seve cracked and proceeded to dump he's shot into the creek fronting 15! Seve's playing partner, Kite, remarked, "It was so noisy we couldn't even hear each other."
Unfazed, Kite made birdie on 15 to make a three way tie for the lead. Ballesteros, Kite, NICKLAUS. Norman 2 shots back.
Par-4 17th, NICKLAUS drove it left.....pitched to 11 feet.......was heard saying, "Dead Center", made the putt for a birdie and held a 1 shot lead!!!!!!!!
Ballesteros' nerves were shot. 3 putted 17 for a bogey......Kite parred.....Norman came on with birdies at 15 AND 16. JACK was still 1 up on Norman and Kite.
18th hole....72nd of the tourney...NICKLAUS drove to the front, almost made a 40 footer and calmly tapped in for par. The crowd let loose a roar as JACK hugged Jackie. Any guesses what JACK had shot? Try the 65 he said it would take! Try a 30!!!!! on the back 9!!! 5 birdies and an eagle....
Now we wait.........Kite pressed on....had a 12 foot birdie putt on 18. To this day Kite swears he thought he had made the putt. "It just didn't go in..I made that same putt 7 or 8 times in the practice rounds...never once did it break left....."
Meanwhile Norman had made a putt on 17 to tie with JACK at 9-under. All he had to do was par 18 to tie, birdie to win......Amist all the bedlam, The Shark pulled a 3-wood. Straight drive.......NO tie in Greg's mind. He decided to go for the win!
"I was going for the flag", Norman said. "I was going for the birdie and the win. It was the first time all week I let my ego get the best of me." He sliced his 4 iron into the gallery and failed to get up and down from 16 feet for the tying par.
At age 46 JACK NICKLAUS had won The Masters for a record 6th time. 23 years since his first one in 1963! His blond hair flowing in the breeze and his tan skin glistening in the April Georgian evening sun, Jack put on the green jacket. JACK was quoted as saying, "I don't want an empire. I have a loving wife and beautiful kids. That's what's important....isn't it." The greatest golfer who has ever lived. Bar none.........
But then it happened....JACK made an 11 footer for birdie on the 9th....Then (gulp!) a TWENTY-FIVE foot birdie on 10!!!!! Believe it or not, he was still 4 shots back as Seve had just EAGLED from 40 feet at 8 to take the lead. In the same group, Tom Kite ALSO EAGLED the 8th. His from 80 feet off the green!!!!!
Master(s) of His Domain
I'll bite.....
Now let me begin by saying that I have never been a Tiger fan (sorry Buck), so my opinion on this might be slightly skewed towards the negative.
As many people probably now know, Eldrick has made the shocking announcement that he is coming back for the Masters on April 8th. He has decided that this tournament is the place that is the most appropriate for him to return to competitive golf after his "lengthy" absence. More on that in a minute. His respect for the tradition of the Masters and the fact that this tournament "would be the earliest I could play" were major factors in the decisions.
My many thoughts on this...
After hearing this announcement, I found myself blacked out and laying face down in the floor, soaked in my own astonishment. What a big shocker. Was I the only one that knew this guy was a liar the whole time and never had any....ANY....intention of missing a major golf tournament. "I do plan on returning to golf one day, I just don't know when...I don't rule out that it could be this year." C'mon Dude, you are full of shit. Less than a month ago you said that, and now you are back??? What changed??? Is he now cured of his addiction? In a few weeks time, his family turmoil has cleared up? Now that is really none of my business, I will admit that. But I will say that this announcement today made his announcement a few weeks ago seem like a farce.
Lengthy absence??? The reality is, he will have missed four tournaments. Pebble Beach, Match Play, Doral (maybe) and Bay Hill. That hardly qualifies as a lengthy absence. Unfortunately, this guy treats the media and the public like they are complete idiots and cannot see through this bullshit.
Now I try very hard not to wish ill will towards any man, and I admit it is a constant struggle at times (this qualifies as one of them). However, if this egomaniac does not make the cut at the Masters, I will hardly shed a tear.
I have always said that what a man does tells much more about him than what he says. Tiger is returning to golf a few short weeks after saying that his family life is the most important thing to him. Which is more important to him? You make the decision.

WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some laughed and some snickered, but here we GROW again!!!!!
A BIG WELCOME!!! to our newest contributor, CHIEF 77!!!!!! Glad to have you J.P.
Our little blog universe grows bigger. It's like we all gave birth to another member.
Seriously, Chief 77, I am glad to have you join... I know you have followed occassionally and even left anonymous comments, but this is great!!
Your blog post was right on...Sometimes we masculine specimen think we can't comment on such things, but we all seem to agree when someone does. I'm guilty of the same thing and sometimes need to be able to take a step back from the world business and make time for myself.
You know, the last time I went to Myrtle Beach with my buds was on a bachelor party (been there since, but with family and had a blast). However, for years a group of buds would make it an annual affair. From 1989 to probably 2002 a trip over President's Day weekend was a given annual event. Regardless of what the wives or girlfiends think, the trips were not about going to strip clubs! (well, other than Chief 77) I still chuckle to myself over something which happened on a ride down, while playing golf, at a restaurant, eating chicken wings, etc.... the memories are priceless (some are costly, especially when you scrap the whole passenger side of a rental van against a cement column!) I would like to see that tradition rekindled. The Buck and I have talked about planning one for President's Weekend 2011.
As we've grown other responsibilities grow as well. Home mortgages to pay, wives to satisfy, and children. My child is my #1 priority. I know there have been times I haven't gone away for fear of spending time with her. I need to learn, I think we all do, that I can go away sometime, spend an afternoon with my buds, etc.... and not take away from my responsibilities.
Chief 77....what I'm trying to say is we welcome you with open arms. I want you to play golf with us this spring/summer. Please schedule to play in "THE ONE TRUE WORD GOLF CLASSIC". I will be posting the date very soon. Let's all use this golf classic as an opportunity to have a blast, create memories, eat, drink, and be merry!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. : Chief 77, you have now officially qualified to play in TOTW Golf Classic!!!

Friends & Family!
I know this being my first post and maybe alittle off topic from reading previous post, but here it goes. Over the years I have been blessed with being able to say I have alot of friends and GREAT friends, well people claim to be my friend. As the years pass us by we sometime wonder where did all the time go. Me for one I get invited by many of you to gatherings and outings that I was unable to attend due to WORK! This past month I have had to take care of my 2 elderly family members which are in a nursing home. Until this past July I took care of my grandfather for a great 6 1/2 yrs which I will cherish for eternity. While sitting there watching the one sleep waiting for her to wake up I realize the things I have missed out on. Not only with friends but with family as well. Also in my profession I am exposed to alot of negative and fatal situations. So I guess with a mixture of recent events and the fact that I truly faced a near fatal situation myself at a fire a week ago. Its time for me to make a change, to do more things for myself, family, and friends. For me I believe we all go through a course of timethat we forget the things that are most important to us. It unfortunately takes something to happen for us to come to a realization we are only here for a short time and to make the most of it. So for starters today I went to see every family member I could. This past Friday night I went to have a great well cooked dinner and a life long friends house (Da Booth). Also to finally see his daughter and to spend time with them. As the weather gets warmer I am hoping we can all have golf outings like in the past. I know you have been having them but I just wasn't able to attend due to other committments which are now for me on the back burner. So these were my thoughts not only for the day but for the past week. Man I feel better now. I am thankful for a great family and friends!

March Madness
I know some of you claim to not follow basketball but its tourney time. I have a site on Cbssports.com that will be up and running tomorrow morning and i will send then link. I think i am going with $10 to play. You will need a cbssports username and then you just go to the site and make your selections. I think i am doing a point breakdown of Rd1= 1pt, Rd2=2pts, Rd3=4pts Rd4 = 6pts, Rd5 = 10pts, RD6 = 15pts plus a bonus of (seed + round) so each round you get the points for picking the right game then you get the seed as a bonus. Example : round 1 i pick Notre Dame to win i would get 1 point for the game then 11 points for the seed for a total of 12 points for that game. Any questions let me know or check out the website in the morning.

Pics of Georgetown after the snow cleared... Enjoy!!!
God Bless the Grocery Store
I just got back from grocery shopping at the Superfresh in Rehoboth. Boy... what a treat. I don't mind grocery shopping and being I love to cook I actually enjoy it.
There really are benefits of going grocery shopping if you are a "people watcher" like I am. It's free entertainment that results in the shake of the head, laughs, and utter disbelief.
So anyway, I'm in the store with my daughter. She is 5 months old, plus she was sleeping, so she isn't able to appreciate the observations. I will make sure to school her, in other peoples' obscurities, so she can appreciate them with me in the future.
I am in the cheese isle trying to find some extra sharp cheddar when I see a middle aged couple walking towards me. They are both dressed like they just came from a bass fishing competition where they were spectators. Some light melody from the 70's was palying and the guy starts singing out loud as he walks by me. Cool!!! I will follow up on this in a minute.
Then I'm down another isle and their are 2 chicks, over weight, mid 40's, who are dressed like 16 year olds. Another tune is now playing and this one is a more upbeat, dance type song. Then it happens. They both start dancing like they are on the deck of the Rudder. But it's a short lived dance, like they want to show everyone how cool they are but deep down they know if they go to long they will look stupid. To late!!!
Follow up - Now, having done a lot of shopping (grocery store, Walmart, etc..) I have noticed one thing related to my above 2 statements.
It always seems that the guys are the ones who are singing and the women are always the ones dancing (and singing to), but never the other way around. I especially love when black guys are shopping with there headphones on and rapping out loud. Yea Brother!!!
Every isle I go down is blocked by some old lady. She has her cart parked right in the middle of the isle taking 10 minutes to figure out which can of stewed tomatoes she wants. But I wait patiently!!!
There is always that one shopper who is racing the clock and flying around the store like Carl Lewis. Power walking around like the housewives of Georgetown, almost running into me as I come around the corner. Dick!!!
The checkout lines are always packed and there are only 3 lanes open. I have like 12 items but that's to many for the 10 item or less line and the old lady running the show will kick me out of line. Hire more people!!!
The self checkout lines suck. There is always a "unable to scan" mishap which locks you out and a rep has to come help you. Damn It!!!
Then there is always the strange couple who looks like they just came from the Bates Motel. They stare at you when you walk by like they want to eat you. I find them looking at deals on canned sardines and corn beef hash. Scary!!!!
Not to mention when I leave I almost get run over by 3 people trying to back out of parking places. Look the fuck behind you!!!
But when it's all said and done I love it and I can't wait to go back for more.
If you ever doubt your place on the social pecking order, go to the grocery store and you will feel soooo much better about yourself.
Enjoy!!!

Watching Sports Center this morning I saw the new Nike commercial and it got me thinking. You know, the new one that was televised the same day Tiger read his worldwide apology. The one with LT, Lance Armstrong, Rampage Jackson... the song is "everybody gets knocked down, how quick are gonna get up." Good commercial and Nike certainly made in support of Tiger.
So I tell my wife "there is Tiger's commercial" and she doesn't get it so I have to explain it to her. Then she says the only thing Tiger did wrong was get married. I then replied the only thing Tiger did wrong was have crazy ass orgies with multiple women While He Was Married!
Then I got thinking even further and here is my topic.
I started thinking about Tiger's sex addiction problem and addiction itself.
ADDICTION - "compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful" (Websters Dictionary). It also goes on to include sex, gambling, etc...
How come if someone is labeled with "an addiction problem" it is always a bad thing or results in negative actions/results.
Sure alcohol, sex, drug, and gambling addictions are very negative things and almost always have mental and physical effects on the participant and the people around him/her.
We probably all know someone who had been effected or are still effected by an addiction. We see what nasty consequences it brings to one's life and how it can quickly destroy it.
But why is a individual not labeled with an addiction if they are obsessed with good things?
I have a friend who runs 15 to 20 miles a day, yes, A DAY! He has to do this everyday or he feels like a piece of shit. Of course staying in shape is good for and why would anyone consider something good for you an addiction?
Just because it's good for you it's not an addiction? Yet every time we here of a Tiger Woods (sex addiction) Allen Iverson (gambling/alcohol) or any Hollywood Star (drugs) having said problems it is an addiction.
If Joe Blow gambles everyday and loses money it's an addiction. If Charles Barkley does it's a hobby because he has the money to blow. I guess if he were to lose lose all his money gambling it would then be an addiction.
Same Joe Blow gambles everyday and it's an addiction yet a Poker Pro gambles everyday and it's his job.
Tiger has sex with all these women and he is a sex addict? Porn stars have sex everyday and it's there job. If Tiger did all this while he were single there would have been nothing mentioned about sex addiction and he would never of sought treatment for same. He is obviously trying to save face and save his marriage so he hopefully regain some of his strayed followers.
I love how the media has portrayed these celebrities as victims. How they say it's no excuse but the money, power, and fame gives them vast opportunities to engage in such acts. The temptations are just to strong for them.
There are plenty of dudes making 30k a year that are married and out banging other chicks. Plenty of dudes making 30k out gambling and drinking it up. Plenty of dudes making 30k going to Pinetown to score dope.
The only difference between the rich VIP dude and and the 30k dude is quality.
VIP guy is having his orgies with super hot chicks where the 30k dude is banging assistant managers from Walmart. VIP guy gets drunk on Don Perignon and 30k dude is getting blitzed off a case of Natural Light. VIP guy is scoring the good blow but 30k dude is getting blow mixed with baking soda from a undercover cop.

I've said my peace and now in the immortal words of Iron Chef Chairman Takeshi Kaga....

TOTW Golf Classic!
Update.....since I'm the Commish (a with your input) I have come to some conclusions regarding our golf tourney. As of now, I have not set a date or location, but that will be coming very soon.
- We will have a 1-day 27 hole "Ryder Cup" style team format. There will be 2 teams playing for match points. Team with most total points at end of day wins the TOTW CUP (Design being submitted) Different format for each 9 holes.
- First 9: Teams play together as a group. Format will be a "Shamble" (Each player hits a drive. Pick the best drive and then each player plays their own ball from that point. I've yet to decide if I'm going to count the 2 best balls or team total) The TEAM with the lowest score at the end of 9 wins the point. Second 9: Change carts/playing partners. Each TEAM will have two 2-man teams playing a 2-man team from the other TEAM. In essence, 2 matches going on at once. (Assuming we have two 4-man TEAMS) As of now, the format will be "Alternate Shot". (1 player tees off, teammate hits next shot, alternate as such all the way through the hole. Lowest score wins the hole. 2-man team with most holes won wins the individual match.) If we have 4-man Teams, there would be a total of 2 possible points to be won for the overall Team match. Ties would count as a 1/2 point for each overall Team. Third 9: Individual matches. Each player plays match play against a player from the other TEAM. Format is "Match Play" by hole. If we have two TEAMS of 4, there would be a total of 4 possible TEAM points. Again, matches ending in a tie would be a 1/2 point for each overall TEAM.
- After 27 holes the total possible points up for grabs is 7. (Assuming 4-man teams. If we end with 5, 6, etc... man teams the point total will change)
- Match will be played either at Heritage Shores in Bridgeville or The Bay Club in Berlin. I will consider the post-match festivites and location and cost when making that determination. My plan is to cookout at mi casa in G-Town.
- Qualifications for play: Participant must have either left a comment or written a blog on http://www.fritz-theonetrueword.blogspot.com/ in order to play. So far the following have qualified (not all have committed) 1) Fritz 2)The Buck 3) Da Booth 4) Keep It Rollin 5) Frank the Tank 6) Bottle Service 7) Mass-Debator 8) robert (commented a long time ago, but has promised to get up to date) 9) The Odds Man 10) Anonymous (Frank & I do know someone who has commented as anonymous and can vouch for his qualifying)
- If you know of someone who would add to our fun, please get them in touch with me or show them how to sign up to add comments, etc... I will need to give them permission to be added as contributor

Here's a long lost photo of Nut Marvel (aka Captain Chaos) with Burt Reynolds at the 1981 Oyster Eat. I've heard numerous stories of Nut but this one I never knew.
It was 1981 and I was only 4 years old so that may be why.
I think the pic was taken in the firehall bathroom??
Burt Reynolds???? Can you believe it???

Sportsmanship Part 35...College Style
Disclaimer: I am a Duke fan.
With that being said, did anybody watch Duke/Maryland last night? (Fritz, I know you are excluded because you can't get into bball) Basketball-wise, it was a great game with tournament style play from both teams. Maryland made me a believer last night and I think they could make some noise in the tourney, although if Greivis Vasquez had a piano dropped on him today looney tunes style, a complaint from me would not be uttered.
My beef with the game was the complete vulgarity of the Maryland fans. This was a national ESPN broadcast, and througout the entire game, every Maryland chant had the F-bomb in it. Some examples:
F-You Scheyer Clap, Clap, Clap Clap Clap
After a band intro, F-You
Is this really condoned at Maryland. I know they are not the smartest bulbs in the box, being that they normally also root for the Deadskins, but at what point are the universities held accountable for that type of behavior. I was talking to some guys at work (Maryland fans) who say they wouldn't dare ever taking their kids to a MD game for fear of this type of unruliness. Really??? And this is okay?? I was completely appalled at their behavior and the fact that no one did anything about it.
Am I overreacting or is that type of behavior crossing the line?

TOTW Golf Tournament
Lets get this tournament going soon. I like the idea of a 2 day event. We could tee off at 2 on Friday, and 10 on Saturday. (just a suggestion) I say mid April at the latest. This will allow people to get home and back to wherever we can BBQ. Would like to see all of this happen guys. Tell/ask your wives NOW, not in 4 weeks. I would venture that most of you would be able to do this. A 5 on 5 tourney, unless "Anonymous" shows up and throws a monkey wrench in everything, is a great idea. Fritz, I believe, had teams set up the other day. Lets "roll" with the plans as soon as we possibly can. Everyone can bring something to BBQ as long as Fritz brings some of that cole slaw. I was pretty intoxicated, but I believe it was gooooo-ood. It kinda had something crunchy like that green jello mold Uncle Eddie fell in love with at dinner in Christmas Vacation.
So in the infamous words of Uncle Eddie...
Merry Christmas, tha shitter's full1!

Merry Christmas, tha shitter's full1!
MY LAST WORD....
OK, I thought I was done commenting on this issue, but I can't be quiet. (I know that shocks some of you!)
I appreciate The Buck adding to the mix with his insightful point of view. I understand and appreciate his view on this. I think being involved in law enforcment and a father adds perspective. I know since I beacme a father my actions and perspective on things has clearly changed! There were times in the past I may have let my physical actions speak for me, but being a dad I can't afford to go to jail, pay a fine which could be $ saved for college, or create a reputation which may hurt my career. Don't get me wrong. I'm not soft. If someone wants to break into my house or threaten my daughter, he/she will have to still answer to my friends Smith & Wesson til the cops arrive.
To the point. Here is my final take on the topic.....
I have been to many wrestling matches over the years and have come to the conclusion that I don't enjoy them. There's a difference between competing athletically and just acting like an ass. For th most part, most of the parents and coaches at high school wrestling match act like plain asses!
Is the Collins kid going to carve out a living as a Greco-Roman Wrestler? NOT!
Does the world come to an end because a coach doesn't shake an opponents' hand? NOT!
Is it written in the rule book that a coach has to shake an opponent's hand? NOT!
So daddy Collins use the moment as a teaching opportunity for your kid! The only lesson you gave your kid that night was how to act like a flaming REDNECK ASSHOLE! Chances are we'll see the Collins kid 20 years from now doing the same thing at his kid's matches. Get a grip and be better dad! You didn't protect shit from shit!
Milford fans quit acting like asses too. Worry about making a living, putting food on the table for your kids, saving for retirement so we the people don't have to support your lack of planning, lazy, broke, but I showed my ass at a high school wrestling match ASSES!
Coaches: Do me a favor....quit twisting and turning an gyrating while a match is going on. You're not the one wrestling so stop acting like you/ve got an invisible person wrapped around your neck. It looks quite dumb. Realize you coach a sport, not DEATH MATCH version V! Teach your kids more about life and not about the figure 4 leg lock! I mean, when the kid is grown and working the cash register at WAWA is he going to implement a perfect takedown on the 80 year old woman who doesn't give the right $ amount for her afternoon coffee?!
Lastly, if parents, coaches, and kids can't act like adults then you leave me know choice but to propose the following:
1. Do as some school across the country have done as a result of the same issue. Schedule games/matches at 4pm right after school to take the night werewolf out of people. Yes, some people won't be able to make it because of work, but that's life. No one ever said it would be fair!
2. Don't allow outside spectators to games/matches. Only the coaches, players, faculty and staff at games. If parents can't watch and appreciate the competition in an adult manner, then they shouldn't be allowed to some. What, a wrestling match with empty bleachers? A basketball game without riff raff raoming about who don't even watch the game? Yeah.. Let the kids ask their parents why they can't act better so they can come watch!
3. Finally, install cages around the playing area and stands. Only allow people outof their seats before and after a game/match. Metal detectors at the door. Plus, an IQ test for all who want to watch. I guarantee you the Illian/Davis clan would fail.
That's my last word...........bring on the golf!

True... the SC - Milford rivalry has been a heated one for quite some time now. I was there for the bench(es) clearing brawl between the 2 schools in 1993.
Here is my bottom line with this whole situation and before I begin I am speaking of all high school sports, not just wrestling. I understand that sporting events can and do become intense and emotions run high and hot on due occassions.
I also understand that the parents of these student athletes want whats best for there children and for their team. I don't like when fans curse and call out the coaches and players during a event. Coaching SC football for years I certainly heard my share of shit from SC fans and the parents. Words don't bother me.
And yes I would have a problem with someone grabbing my daughter but I have seen the Illian/Davis clan over the years and I know she isn't little miss innocent. It wasn't like the Milford dude was beating her ass somewhere and the police are 15 minutes away. There was a cop 50 ft from them and the guy grabbed her arm. Get some worth out of your tax dollars. Doesn't justify someone grabbing her though.
Yes Parsley should of shaken the kid's hand but he is asshole and has been for a long time. Let the DIAA deal with that. The dad never should of confronted Parsley just because he didn't shake his kid's hand and Parsley shouldn't of followed him over to the stands to further provoke things. The alleged Milford guy should of never grabbed the Illian girl. But it happened and as a result a small riot endsued putting other innocent bystanders in harms way.
This is where I have a problem. This isn't two kids on the football field or wrestling mat fighting. Where it is a controlled incident between two participants that usually results in the player(s) being suspended for the next event. This spilled outside the palying arena and into the stands.
Grown adults (coaches and fans) thought a hand shake was more important than the well being of everyone else in the building and on the roadways. I think it is laughable that individuals involved were only made to sit out of the next tournament. This goes beyond DIAA and enters into the criminal realm.
These fools should be barred from the school property for at least a year and not allowed to coach or spectate for that time period. There is no excuse for these actions and I can't beleive (actually I can knowing DIAA and the IRSD) more severe actions were not taken. Was Mr. Collins allowed to be a spectator at the tournament the coaches were suspended from?? I'm sure he was and that to is laughable.
What if this would have happened???
1) Parsley shakes the kid's hand and there is No Further Problem. Being a asshole isn't a crime.
2) Parlsey doesn't shake hand but Collin's dad doesn't confront him. Instead Collins calls DIAA and Milford School the next day and demand some sort of action be taken against Parsley. No Further Problem.
3) Collins guy does confront Parsley and speaks his peace but Parsley does not follow and provoke things. No Further Problem.
4) Parsley does follow Collins and stirs shit up and demands police remove Collins at once. No Further Problem if the police can get there before the Milford dude stirs shit up and remove Collins.
5) The Milford dude doesn't grab Illian girl for talking shit to him. Collins removed. No Further Problem.
6) Milford dude does grab young Illian girl for talking shit to him which forces Daddy Illian to react by calling the police who are responding to remove Collins and now Milford dude for grabbing Illian girl. No Further Problem.
7) Daddy Illian doesn't wait for police and goes after Milford Dude which clears the stands and all hell breaks loose. ACTION!!!
We now have a large scale, violent incident involving multiple people in a enclosed gym. Innocent people are now put in harms way by those involved. Luckily no one was hurt.
The police on scene are forced to request a county wide response. Officers county wide are now racing to the scene which puts there lives and other motorists lives in harms way. Luckily no one was hurt.
But in the end I guess it can all be justified because it is just a ongoing, heated, emotional rivalry between SC and Milford. Can't wait for football season when TC attacks Coach Wells!!!

This IS the truth
After I have heard a few stories, rumors, etc., and heard it mentioned a few times on this blog, I have decided to go against better judgement and tell what I saw Sun February 21, 2010. I was there, and was not in the middle of any of it. I was high enough up that I could see things unfold, as the name of this blog site, this is the one true word.
The 130 lb match for Henlopen Conference finals consisted of Collins from Sussex Central, and Bonneville from Milford. This was a close intense match (7-5), and the head coach from Milford was more than upset with a few calls the official had made. Milford head coach (Don Parsley), was yelling at the official for 2 periods. At the conclusion each match in a tournament the competing wrestlers ALWAYS go to the opposite side and shake the other coach's hand. When Collins went to shake the other coach's hands... Parsley turned his back and walked away. Very tacky move as a coach.
Mr. Collins walked over to Don Parsley and then proceeded to tell him that he "was an asshole for not acknowledging his son". After this Parsley followed Mr Collins to his seat (happens to be right in front of the entire Sussex Central crowd), and started waiving his hands in the air asking for the man that verbally assaulted him be thrown out of the gym.
At this point no one is responding to Mr Parsley quickly enough which prompts a fan from the Milford section to stand up and lean over to point out Mr Collins. This starts a few other people to point back and forth and yelling at each other. During this time someone grabbed a 15 yr old girl by the arm and pushed her telling her to shut the "f" up. The girl was Chip Illian's daughter who was trying to comfort and shield her 5 yr old little brother. Chip was about 10 feet away with 2 or 3 other wrestlers trying to keep them away from the arguing. Chip's daughter or someone then yelled for him to get over there, at that point he was trying to get to his kids. A few other people saw Chip and grabbed him to stop him from getting in the middle of it all. Chip NEVER EVER got to the middle of the action, was grabbed by police and asked to get into the lobby. He did as he was asked.
Someone had gotten up from the other side of the gym and was running over to the "action" when he got hit by another kid. The kid that got hit was the 160 lb wrestler from Milford, and it was another kid that hit him. These 2 people were not even involved in the incident regarding Chip's daughter. A lot of coaches grabbed kids and people to keep them from further escalating any situation that was already bad. The thing that is bad here, is that Chip was blamed b/c he was the last person being held back. Chip and Don were reprimanded along with 5 or 6 other people, by being sat out of the Dual Meet State Tournament and the Individual State Tournament.
Now let me say this... I am not condoning any actions of any one that night. A lot of things could have been done different. As a coach myself you have to hold yourself a lot higher than the people competing, and those that do not understand the rules, and/or the sport. All of this could have been avoided if 2 things happened.
1. He should have shaken the kid's hand.
2. When he was "verbally assaulted," simply walk over to an officer and ask to have the spectator removed.
It's probably a good thing Chip never got to that guy. I think that he would have crushed that dude.
I have to pose this one question, and most of us have kids... What would you do if that was your daughter or 5 yr old child for that matter???? Don't even tell me for one second that if another adult grabbed your kid you would not fly off the handle.

FILLER
I was going to just comment on the last post, but as I was typing I felt a few of these issues needed a space of their own........
The Buck mentioned the US Hockey team and Olympics. .......You know, I was thinking the same thing this morning........Last review.....The US team beat the Canadians once already and were undefeated through their bracket.........The now have lost 1 game in the Olympics. The same number as the Canadians. They have beat each other one time.....Yet they win the silver? The problem is this thing called bracket play to get to the medal rounds. I guess after the bracket rounds your record is wiped clean? Stupid set-up!!!!!!!!! I demand a game 3. By the way, Labatts beer sucks mounty dick!
What's up with the adults at high school events? If they can't control themselves or act like adults it's time they stay away. I mean, explain to me how anyone can let a high school wrestling match erupt into a fight between adults in the stands, players, and coaches punching players from the opposing team? This is ridiculous!!!!!!! Don't even tr to justify it. There is nothing about a high school sporting event which should lead adults to this point of intensity. Talk about living through your kids!!!!! I say arrest'em. Pay a fine.
Is anybody thinking of the college BB tournament? I'm not. Can't get into college ball this year. For some reason the only games I like watching are Big East.
Anyone watch golf yesterday? I like some of these younger guys. Rickie Fowler, Camillo Villegas, Hunter Mahan. Yesterday's telecast had a little juice. Let's keep on with some of these younger guns. (Yes, Mass-Debator, I like more than just senior golf)
Thinkin of golf......I've gotten some positive feedback regarding a http://www.fritz-theonetrueword.blogspot.com/ golf summer classic. I've seen a couple of ideas floated about. I'm looking for some SERIOUS feedback on what you would like. Format. etc..... Also, please list your fav major league baseball team for me.
