Tiger's Saga Continues.....

"The Buck" writes an interesting blog yesterday.   Yes, I agree Tiger and his camp are making more of a mess than this than it needed to be.    The longer they take, the more we all suspect the worst and will only half believe what we are finally told.      I'm always amazed at this with celebrities..  I mean, if they were truly doing nothing wrong then come out immediately and tell the truth to all media who cares to interview or record.  Hell, in Tiger's case he's so rich that he could afford to buy airtime on national television to tell his story.      Obviously,  you need days to gather stories and make sure everyone is practicing telling the same lies.    In this case, maybe to get Elin to calm down and realize it's in her best interest $$$$$$$$ to come to grips and be on the same page...

I agree with most of The Bucks points, but here's what I believe has happened.....

  1. Elin made mad animal monkey (or tiger) love to Tiger before they were married in order to "capture" her man.   As a so-called "Super Model" (although I don't recall seeing her before she and Tiger became an item) she loves celebrity status and money.  Tiger brought both.
  2. Once they were married, Elin shows less interest in the physical.  And I don't mean the physical 25,000 sq ft house in Isleworth or the cash.
  3. After the child was born Elin basically has lost all sexual interest.
  4. Tiger, being a man with physical needs overtaking common sense, finds himself attracting Rachel. Amazingly, another model.  (Common Tiger, do you really think if you were "Joe Six-Pack" with a 15 Handicap playing at The Rookery Rachel Uchitel would have anything to do with you? I've always said if I had a choice between "Good Looks", Being "Well-Endowed", or sloppy "Rich", I would take RICH to attract women any day of the week.)
  5. Pissed that he's getting his rocks off, Elin starts fighting with Tiger. (At no time does it cross her mind to just walk in with a string thong bikini on showing off her "Spuer Model" figure and plant one on Tiger's lips then softly whisper in his ear that he's the most awesome athlete in the world and she'll be his "club cover" for the night.  I guarantee if she had Tiger would have forgotten all about "Rachel Who?")
  6. Elin using the female species against Tiger starts physically abusing hime. Starts slapping him and I believe may have picked up a golf club along the way in her abuse. (I mean, how convenient for her to just have a golf club in her hand during the accident.)
  7. Like The Buck says, Tiger had enough and decides to leave. It's either that or he risks losing his cool and possibly shoving her back. If he does, kiss the prenup goodbye....
  8. Elin, determined that her madn wasn't going to just leave without her permission follows him down the driveway swinging the shit out of the 4 iron. Which distracts Tigger and he hits the hydrant.
  9. Shocked at the impact Mr. Woods hits the gas and rams the tree.
  10. Elin is in the driveway still with her trusty 4 iron, which she has previously "grooved" off Tiger's lip.
  11. Totally dazed, Tiger gets out of the Caddy and hits the pavement.  Quickly, to save face he and Elin make up the story of her breaking the back glass with her miracle appearing golf club.   (I'm curious as to how long it would take me to bust the back glass with a club let alone Elin at 112 lbs?  isn't that glass supposedly impact resistant? Plus, I think the shaft would bend before you could break the glass.)
  12. Tiger has yet to talk to the police and media because he's embarrassed to even be in this situation. He's ashamed and wondering what in the hell has happened to his life.   He's worked hard to be the iron clad intimidating opponent with no weaknesses.  He's worked on being a role model.  Now, it's all blown up in his face.
Part of me feels for Tiger and Elin.   Part of me envys them.   They are two attractive people......Tiger has a beautiful wife and a lovely child......they are rich beyond belief and could never spend all their money if they tried....... their daughter will be set finacially......they live in Florida at a beautiful community....etc..... but none of this means a thing if you don't get along and be thankful for what you have instead of wanting something you don't.   And I mean both of them!  Tiger,  give Elin the biggest hug in the world and tell her how sorry you are and tell her the reason why you strayed.  BE HONEST!  Look at your little child and realize that it's time to pull it together for her sake..... Elin,  stop acting like a spoiled rich wife. Get back to acting like you did when you first put Tigger in your sights.. Don't forget to be a great wife, but also sometimes it good to act like a girlfriend...  Show Tiger you appreciate living in a 15 million dollar house and that you and your child will never "won't" for anything.

Some of the armor has come off......Nicklaus is still safe for now..........

I can't believe Tiger Woods' entourage has yet to make a move in his accident debacle!! I can only imagine what he is paying his lawyer, publicist, and agent?? I can guarantee you that I could have this all taken care of for half the money he is paying these morons! This is so easy to clean up but these high paid suck asses are shitting there pants right now because they have no clue what to do.

Here is what we do know (by police accounts)...

1) Tiger was involved in a single vehicle accident where he was the operator and the only person in his vehicle.
2) He struck a fire hydrant and then a tree just mere feet from his driveway.
3) He was dazed and sustained cuts to his facial area.
4) His wife had to help extricate him from the vehicle using a golf club (how ironic).
5) Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident.
6) There is some speculation that he and his wife had a heated argument, over an affair he is having, and that's why he left at 2 am.
7) He is not talking to the police and canceled their interview for today. Apparently he is going to speak to them tomorrow because he and his wife were not feeling up to it today (I wonder if they purposely waited until Sunday so he could where his "Sunday Red" golf shirt and intimidate the cops?).

And here is what we don't know...

1) Why was Tiger leaving at 2 am?
2) How in the hell do you hit a fire hydrant and then a tree just pulling out of your driveway?
3) If you do manage to hit these things, how do you bust up your face and almost knock yourself out when you are only going 20 mphs??
4) How does your little, supermodel wife pull you from the vehicle??
5) Why is it taking so long for the "Tiger Camp" to deal with this?

Hear is what I think happened...

1) Tiger's wife confronted him about his so called affair with Rachel Uchitel. Whether it's true or not his wife is thinking it is true. A heated argument ensues, mainly her bitching, and she whacks him a couple of times in the face. He sustains injuries from same and is probably why he is dazed.
2) He has enough of the shit so he bolts in his Cadi. Pissed off and trying like hell to get out of there, he wrecks leaving his driveway.
3) His wife does a emotional 180 and runs outside to his rescue and calls 911.
4) Tiger goes to the hospital, gets treated, then returns home.
5) He then gathers his entourage to start "Operation Damage Control."
6) Refuses to talk to the police because he and his gang have no idea what to say yet.

Hear is how to fix it....

1) First - Get your wife in check and let her in on the affair if you are or were having one (which I think he is/was). She will be pissed off but she will know the truth and women are much easier at forgetting (not to be confused with forgiving). She will quickly remember that you are worth a billion dollars which makes her worth a billion dollars. Remind her of the prenup agreement as well.
2) Second - With your wife now on the same page it's time to deal with the accident. This is where Tiger has to suck it up little and give up some of his superstar pride. Admit to a domestic issue with you and your wife. Admit the argument was over the National Enquirer's recent release about the affair. You got mad and left in a hurry. Your wife called you and gave you shit and while you were arguing on the phone you weren't paying attention to your driving and that's why you got into the accident. That is also how you got the injuries.
3) Third - Hold a press conference and tell everyone about the argument that caused the accident. Lie your ass off and deny the affair because your wife is now in your corner and will be on your side. She will say she was just upset about the rumors, things got out of hand, and she believes he is not cheating.
4) Finally - Talk to the police and tell them the same thing. If they want to charge you with a traffic citation then so be it. I'm sure Tiger can afford the 2 points and insurance increase. They can't lock him up for anything more than careless or inattentive driving. And I'm pretty sure they can hardly do that because it was a private property accident and he didn't leave the scene. DUI is out of the question cuz they would have had to lock him up by now because they would only have a few hours to do this immediately after the accident.

Pretty simple if you think about it. There are to many questions to be answered and enough different answers to avoid knowing what really happened. It will be very interesting to see what they do!!

Til next time,

Suicide Watch

Within the next two months Urban Myers should be put on suicide watch. I believe he would trade his own children for Tebow.

I do believe Tebow is one of the greatest "college" players ever. He may make a good Hback in the NFL but not to sure. Ive been sitting here watching the 3 hour tribute to the Greatest player/person to ever take a breath on this earth. I was just wondering what your guys thoughts on who the greatest player/players of all time were. I personally dont believe Tebow is in the top ten.

Not in any order just some of my thoughts, and no i didnt see most of these guys play just going by my sports knowledge and research.

Red "the gallaping ghost" Grange
Archie Griffin
Vincent "Bo" Jackson (how many knew his real name)
Barry Sanders
Doak Walker
Jim Thorpe
Roger Staubach
O.J. Simpson
Earl Campbell
Tony Dorsett
Ernie Davis
Herschel Walker

Just some of my thoughts on some great players and i only did offensive skill players if we did lineman and defense i think Tebow drops even further. Yes i am a little bias in my hatred of Tebow being a FSU fan but i just dont get where he could be the greatest player of all time.

You will never see another blogger blog harder than i will the rest of this year!

Thanksgiving

Well, Thanksgiving is upon us.  The college football regular season is coming to an end.  The NFL is just about 2/3 of the way through the season.   World Series is past.   Does anyone even care about the NBA and NHL regular seasons?

Enjoy yourselves. Give thanks for all you have and for family.   Watch how much you eat.  But one thing is clear.......I hope there are some great Thanksgiving Day parades on!     That's right!   Some smash mouth out of sight floats to stir the emotions,  a spectacular display by some unknown majorette.

Why?  you ask?   Because the NFL has seen fit to give us about the worst match-ups possible.   The Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay at 1pm and then Dallas vs. Oakland at 4pm.    I don't count the 8pm game between the Giants and Broncos because half of us can't even get the NFL Network if we wanted to watch and the other half will be snuzzing from eating too much turkey.

What in the H are they thinking?     I can understand tradition. Yes, the Lions and Cowboys have been on Thanksgiving for over 40 years, but these games could actually turn a fan off to the NFL.      How about scheduling the Lions vs. the Browns so at least the game might be competitive?    How about designing the schedule so the 'Boys play the Eagles or Giants?    90% of America will be off work.  Why not give us a real game?????

Even the college game on ESPN will be a dud.   Texas who will probably play for the National Championship against a 6-5 Texas A&M team.   Yeah,  in state rivals,  probably tight for first 10 minutes, then on the way to a final score of 35-17.   Wow!

Oh well, there's always the Magic vs Hawks on TNT at 8pm........

More announcers......

I'm gonna piggyback on DA BOOTH's blog below regarding announcers...

For years now the state of announcers has gotten steadily worse.  I've complained before...mainly to deaf ears,  but my God, some games are just unwatchable because of bad announcing.

Case in point.....this year's World Series.........I could only take so much at a time with announcers Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.   Joe Buck acts like he's announcing something as complicated as brain surgery instead of a baseball game.   McCarver would be lost without a stat book and his helpers passing facts thru his headset.   Everything he says centers around some stat.

I long for these long gone announcers:
Joe Garigiola and Tony Kubeck- In the 1970's and early 80's baseball had the "Saturday Game of the Week".  Garigiola was a former player and knowledgeable.  Kubeck was lighter but also knowledgeable. Neither had to depend on stats to prove a point.

Richie Ashburn and Harry Kalas- You may have heard Kalas in recent years and he was one of the best. But I think his best days were when he and Ashburn were paired. Throughout the 70's and 80's they brought Phillies games to life.  Asburn was one of the "Whiz Kids" from the 1950's and won batting titles in both 1955 and 1958.  Nobody has called a better homerun than Kalas.

Howard Cosell, "Dandy" Don Meredith, and Frank Gifford- The original Monday Night Football crew.  Nobody has done it better since.  Yes, there have been many combinations over the years, but this group made you want to tune in.   Gifford was a professional and called a tight game.  Meredith brought the lighter side of a former Dallas QB who seemed at home drinking a cool one while wearing his cowboy hat.  Cosell never seems to get credited for his knowledge of sports, but he was extremely knowledgeable. Cosell added flair and could make a game between the Lions and Browns seem like it was for a championship.  I always loved the end of a game when the result was in the bag and Dandy Don would let out a chorus of "Turn out the lights, the party's over".

Chuck Thompson- If you were an Orioles fan in the 1970's and very early 80's you know who Chuck Thompson is!    He brought 33rd Street to life night in and night out.  Made you love the way he said Palmer, Robinson, Lee, Murray, Lowenstein.....  Lighthearted and full of baseball stories.

Keith Jackson- College football....leafs turning brown and falling on a crisp fall day.....the Rose Bowl.....potnificating........"Whoa Nellie"...   need I say more?

Announcers

It is no secret that i hate most announcers. I would like to add Rob Popa?(dont know how its spelled) He does the NFL network games with Matt Milan. Milan isnt that bad but the other guy sucks. I am sitting here listening to him for 8 minutes now bash Jake Delhomme. Yes he threw a pick, but thats not what he is crushing him for. He is upset because the Dolphins were subbing men off and the panthers waited til they were set to hike the ball. If the announcer would watch the fucking game he would notice that a man in stripes is standing over the ball so it cant be put in play. The whole panthers team is yelling at him to move so they can snap the ball. But all captain douche bag could do is blame Delhomme for not running the play. This is just one example of millions that makes me wonder what these guys are doing in the booth. Joe Buck is ok at baseball but spends 90% of football games blowing Troy Aikmen, Chris Collinsworth spends 90% of the game blowing himself. I miss the days of Keith Jackson, Pat Summeral, and a younger John Madden, where they actually knew the sport, paid attention to the game and didnt just plain suck.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the world of professional sports it has been clearly evident that the Superstar Athlete rules the roost and management tends to ignore almost everything because of the talent and money making attributes the Superstar Athlete brings to their organization.

We all watch the likes of T.O., Chad Ochohomo, and Pacman Jones and get down right disgusted. We all proclaim that their is no way in hell one of these egotistical maniacs would ever be on a team we owned. Sure, they have great talent but most of their other intangibles are mere distractions and a effort to gain media attention and recognition.

Pro teams often bite the bullet and coddle these individuals due to their athletic prowess. There is no consideration for The Team and before you know it a cancerous plague begins to spread throughout the franchise. This usually results in a trade of the cancer so he may move onto another host and begin to infect them.

The one thing I can say is that the above mentioned, and others alike, is that they indeed have tremendous talent. Maybe that's why owners and management keep them around and deal with their BS. Maybe they are hoping the production will out way the drama.

This week I was delighted to see a team step up and rid themselves of their cancer. They did not wait until the end of the year nor did they seek a trade to try and salvage what was left. They merely said, we have had enough of this shit and released their Superstar Athlete on the spot. I am a long time fan and follower, I really commend the KC Chiefs for giving Larry Johnson his pink slip. FINALLY!!!!!!!

The more I thought about it the more I realized that their is a difference between the above mentioned and Larry Johnson. While they all have had similar legal, media, and discipline problems, their is one big difference. The above mentioned have talent and Larry Johnson sucks ass!!

When LJ was drafted in 2003 (1st Round) by the Chiefs I was very pissed off! I knew this was a terrible pick and my gut feeling has proven to be accurate. Sure, LJ had a great senior season at Penn State but if you look closer at what he accomplished you would be able to clearly see he was not all that. He gained just over 2000 yards his senior year and led the country, by a lot, in rushing yards and rushing average. That's great, right?? Consider the year before he rushed for a mere 300 and some odd yards. You would think a great back wouldn't take until his senior year to be great, let alone a first round pick.

Look at his senior stats as well. In four of his games he rushed for over 250 yards in each game. Awesome, right?? No!! These games were played against Michigan State, Illinois, North Western, and Indiana. The powers of the Big Ten!??! LJ gained over %60 of his 2000 yards in these four games. Look even closer and you will see that when he faced Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, and Auburn he did not break 75 yards in any of the games. See what I mean???

LJ then breaks onto the NFL scene in 2005 when KC's Priest Holmes gets injured. In 2005 he rushes for 1500+ yards and in 2007 he jumps up to 1700+ yards! Wow!!! Must of been a great pick, right?? No again! In those two years LJ was given the special gift of being able to run behind the best offensive line in football (arguably) at the time. I wouldn't expect anything less of a average back running behind Willie Roaf (12 Pro Bowls), Will Shields (11 Pro Bowls) and Brian Waters (5 Pro Bowls).

Guess what happened in 2007?? Roaf, Shields, and Waters retire and so does LJ's stats. See what I mean??

LJ sucked and it shows what kind of back he really is without a offensive line. Sure, you can say any good back needs a good o-line but I disagree. Barry Sanders didn't have one and look what he did. Stephen Jackson doesn't have one and look what he does in St. Louis.

LJ was nothing more than a one-hit-wonder at Penn State. KC bought into the hype like everyone else but fortunately they saw the light and didn't wait around to unload this cancer.

Til next time,

Throw the fade!!

Im Bored

I am missing all the arguing we had from last week. So i got bored and have a few questions for you.
1. Who would have won the Revolutionary War if they had the weapons and technology of today?
2. Why is Illinois spelled with an "S" but people get pissed when you say the "S"?
3. Why does Bradley Layfield like sweater vests so much?
4. Whats the difference between an orange? (buck should know this one)?
5. Who was the commencement speaker at The University of Delaware graduation in 2008?
6. If Notre Dame were to play Navy again do you think they would get the ball to Golden Tate more then once in the 1st half?
7. How come in Maryland it is Illegal to take a lion to the movies?
8. If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?
9. Again why does Bradley Layfield love sweater vests so much?
10. Finally the big one, who would win if the civilians of the United States were to fight the Military of the United States? (this has been a longtime debate as many of you know)

HAVE A DAY!

Not Ready to Wave The White Flag, but...

Yes, I am a big Notre Dame fan.  I admit it. I own hats, jerseys, jackets, flags, pictures, etc...  I love the history of the university and the football program.    I love names like  "Rockne", "Layden", "Parseghian", "Holtz", "Montana", "Zorich", "Theisman", "Bettis", "Crable", etc.................   I love the traditions such as the friday night pep rallys, the weekly painting of the helmets, the post game singing of "Notre Dame Our Mother", the 13 National Championships, and one of the most distinguishable college fight songs.

With that said, it's time....time to call for a change.....I hate doing this. I've been a defender of Charlie's. But I can't take anymore....Something has got to give!      For the second time in 3 years we've lost to The US Naval Academy.  An occasional upset in sports happens, but enough is enough!  A program such as ND doesn't lose to Navy!

Now before you take me the wrong way, let me first give kudos the the Midshipmen. They played as a team. You can tell they are well coached. I respect them tremendously.   They gang tackle and never give up.  They run the triple option to perfection.  Not only did they beat ND, but they almost beat Ohio State earlier this season. Would have had it not been for a last play run back by Ohio St. on a 2 pt conversion.

All this while being outweighed on the line of scimmage by 50 lbs a man!  All this with a team made up of no one with aspirations of the NFL.   All this with a group of guys who get up at 5:30am every day for exercises and class.  Unlike most other college football programs, these players spend more time each week in class than they do on the practice field or film room.  Tim Tebow might be the only player currently on UF's squad which could survive at the Naval Academy.   I doubt anyone on USC would have SAT scores high enough for consideration into the Academy.   Forget about anybody on Stoop's OU team.

In our previous blogs about college athletics and qualifications, The US Naval Academy, The Air Force Academy, and West Point are the last bastians of higher educational learning where sports teams are not made up of kids majoring in "pre professional sports", but play because they love the game and love to compete.

It's with this understanding that I now call for the ouster of Coach Charlie Weis.   I know, some of you will call me a crybaby, but since I'm the ND fan and you may not be I have the right.  I've seen enough!

Yes, Charlie has done a great job recruiting a collection of really good offensive players. His recruiting trips are legendary. He's non-stop.   Clausen has gotten better and will probably get an NFL shot.  Tight End Kyle Rudolph, and ends Golden Tate and Michael Floyd are NFL quality for sure.  Frosh Theo Riddick shows potential to be a big time back....

But Charlie seems to have forgotten that the offense can't play 60 minutes. There has to be a defense and other than freshman linebacker Manti Teo, there isn't one other defensive starter I can say is big time.  Remember, Weis was an offensive coordinator in the NFL and it shows.   He seems happy to be in a shootout every week. Put up 35 and take your chances.

Charlie was also exposed saturday by Navy on one other area as well.....TEAM PLAY!    I love the NFL, but it's an individualistic league.   Sell Tom Brady, Manning, T.O., and a few choice others.  I guess when you draft the best college kids every year you can play as individuals and get by, even have success.   But, let's face it, even the best college teams each year are only made up of a select few who will ever play in the NFL. The majority of all teams are players who will never suit up after graduation. Therefore, playing as a team is critical.   ND played as a bunch of individuals while NAVY played like a team.

Want an example:  watch the replay of Clausen being tackled at the goal line late in the 2nd half.  I give him credit. Jimmy didn't slide. He went head to head with the defensive player.  But, while Clausen fumbled the ball on the 1, you can see ND players walking, jogging, looking. Hell, one lineman in the background was giving the TD sign with arms held high.   All this while at least a half dozen undermanned midshipmen scrambled for the loose ball. Running full bore into a pile.  If you didn't see it I don't need to tell you who ended up with the ball.

Want another? Or should I say 6.  That's roughly the number of times inside the 20 Weis calls for his favorite play, the fade route to the corner of the endzone.   You know the play....one on one....run to the corner....create a jump ball situation.....QB throws it before anybody's even looking.   A pure play based on individual performance.   Not once did they connect.   I knew it was coming. Navy knew it was coming.  The band knew it was coming!     Clausen threw for 453 yds, but did not cnnect once on Charlie's "fade".  Yet time and time again, Weis stubbornly called for this play.  Almost like a spoiled child determined to prove it could work.     CHARLIE,   YOUR OFFENSIVE LINE AVERAGES 310LBS WHILE NAVY'S "D" LINE AVERAGES 250.   RUN THE F'ING BALL!  PLAY AS A TEAM!

No doubt about it Charlie likes his NFL playbook with over 200 variations.  I like NAVY's with about 10.  My God Charlie,  Joe Gibbs won Super Bowls with basically 2 running plays.  One left.  One right.    Charlie Weis is too smart for college.  He needs a scripted play sheet.     Doesn't anyone on the college level yet realize they're not on his level and shouldn't be beating him?  When are they gonna learn?

Charlie,  I've got a suggestion..  Next time you're on the Navy 10 yd line and you have a 220lb wide receiver like Michael Floyd matched up against a 170 lb "D" back, don't throw the fade. Throw it to Floyd spread wide and let him take on his undermatched man.   Better yet,  tell your 310 lb panzy "O" line to pull up their britches and like former Central Coach, the late, Dave Bloodsworth used to say, "YOU GOTTA HIT SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!"

Now where do we go from here?     ND wants Urban Meyer.  However, Meyer spurned them before basically because he wants one thing in writing which ND admin, won't give.    He wants to be able to recruit players based on lower entrance qualifications to the University.  Yes, ND does have strict entrance qualifications and a base SAT score, unlike a lot of big time football programs.  That's why Meyer went to Florida.  Because he can recruit anyone he wants whether they can read or write.  If they can play football, who cares if "dey cin wead o wite".    Heck, when Meyer was choosing ND or UF it wasn't the $ or facility.  It was the fact that Meyer wanted it in writing that he could get 2 -3 recruits a year which maybe were under normal entrance requirements.  ND wouldn't budge.  They said they would give it verbally.   Now, I have no love lost for Bob Davie, but that's what they did to him and when he had a couple of incidents with a recruit or two the admin said no more.  Result, Davie couldn't recruit players needed to compete with the "community" colleges like USC.

OK, then who?   I say let's look at the guy who just beat them, Ken Niumatalolo.   Navy doesn't get big recruits, yet they are 6-3 and only rushed for 349 yds against the ND defense.  He obviously can compete with a lesser squad because he runs a system designed to do just that.  If ND isn't going to loosen up it's recruiting standards then like the military academies, let's run a system that doesn't depend on having big time players to succeed.

Here's another.....Paul Johnson of Georgia Tech.   He only took NAVY to 5 straight bowl game victories before leaving last year for Tech.   After yesterday's win over Wake Forest, Tech is 9-1 and will break the Top 10 this week.  Oh by the way,  Tech only rushed for 412 yds yesterday!

Say I'm full of it?   Yes, if I'm a high school QB who doesn't care about college championships,  just wants to showcase for the NFL, I take Wies and his throw 1st mindset.      But, want to guess who won the last National Championship for the Irish?   Try Lou Holtz running an option first offense run by Tony Rice.  Matter of fact, Holtz to this day strongly believes the "option" should be a staple in any college offensive playbook.   I AGREE!

NCAA

Buck, you took that to another level... touche!

1) I have to admit that I was not thinking outside the box on that one. I feel there needs to be stiffer penalties for some of the actions of these athletes. Although I am not sure how, and who should enforce these rules and regulations. I very much agree there needs to be a much stronger placement of blame on these athlete for their own actions, and great that Oregon coaching staff took it upon themselves to punish Blount. Anyone allowed to participate in athletics, at any level, needs to be held a little more accountable for themselves. At the collegiate level these are now men and can think for themselves!

2) In the case of Ted Bundy... I would have to say that is a very big exception to the rule. Didn't see that one coming.

I am glad something like this site has come along. Good to know that sometimes you can say what you feel, so until the next time...

Keep it rollin!

WORLD SERIOUS

Well here we are....Nov 3, 3009 and the World Series is still on.....tomorrow night the Phillies will travel to New York and play the Yankees once again in Game 6 of this year's "classic"............I ask you,  "Are you really paying attention?"  "Is anyone other than the 48,000 fans attending the games really caring?".........I watch off and on, but let's face it, the season is waaaaaaayyyyyyy too long!!!!!!!!!.....................do they really still need to be playing in November?.........once not too long ago Reggie Jackson was called "Mr. October", not "Mr. Mid-Winter Break"!    ............Yes, you're probably the one who is a baseball fanatic watching Bob Costas on the MLB network...............here's my suggestions to save baseball:

  1. shorten the season from 162 games to 152. season would end a week and half earlier thus putting the end of the World Series squarely in the middle of October when some of us still care.
  2. make a decision on the designated hitter for both leagues.  however, watching a pitcher look spastic at the plate is not an option.  either have the DH or let pitchers bat, but be just like a regular player.  you want to tell me that the guys who make the majors as a pitcher have never know how to hit?   most of your best little league pitchers are the teams best player.   why are they treated with "kid glove" and not made to work on the hitting?   face it, starting pitchers only pitch every 5 days...what are they doing the other 4?
  3. require players to wear uniforms that fit.   cc sabathia looks like a f n clown!     whatever happened to the stirrup socks?
  4. no days off between world series games when the teams are as close to each other as Phila and NY.  Why do they need 2 days off when they are only 90 miles from each other?  Get the games done.
  5. get rid of Tim McCarver and Joe Buck from World Series telecasts.   Buck needs to lighten up and McCarver needs to put his stats book down for awhile.   who cares what  A-Rod did in the 7th inning of a game 3 years ago while it was raining and the temp. was between 50 and 59 degrees while he hat his hat on backwards and was taking a practice swing?

NCAA Football

Why doesn't the NCAA care about the actions of their players on the field as much as they care about their actions off the field. Dez Bryant gets suspended for having dinner with his childhood hero, and the ncaa even admitted he didn't break any rules. Bryce Brown was suspended two weeks because a camera was present when he was talking to Lane Kiffin. I think its fine that penalties are forced upon these student athletes for any action the NCAA considers wrong.

My question is how come they do not have any need to suspend athletes for actions that take place on the field. Oregon RB Labount punches a opposing player in the face, then attacks other players, fans, and security guards and the NCAA never says a word about it and let Oregon punish him however they wanted. A Michigan player is caught on tape 2 weeks in a row punching opposing players up under their facemask, and nothing was done about it. Now Spikes for the UF is caught on tape gouging at the eyes of the Georgia running back an action that could have affected that player for the rest of his life and he gets a crushing 2 quarter penalty(as of right now). I understand giving the College the chance to punish their students, but when the college fails to do so properly, then why not step in and do it yourself.

HAVE A DAY!
