Remember......2009

Every year we go through changes. We grow. The grey appears (it will. just wait.) relationships come and go. People pass. But time does not stand still.  And so with it we must continue....

Over the past year we witnessed:

Penguins won the Stanley Cup
Lucas Glover - The US Open
Michelle Wie wins her 1st tournament
Yankees BOUGHT another World Series
Florida Gators defeat the Oklahoma Sooners to win the BCS
North Carolina Tar Heels win 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship
Obama became the 1st "sort of" black President of the U.S.
Swine Flu (H1N1) - did you get your vaccination
Who gives a f_ck who won the NBA Finals!




Lest we forget, those we lost in 2009:

1. Donny Mitchell - great guy. luv ya man
2. Chad Spice - thank!
3. Michael Jackson - shame his "freakness" over took his artistic ability
4. Farah Fawcett - Since I was born in '66 I got to grow up with Farah in her heyday. Any boy during 1975 - 1980 watched Charlie's Angels and acted like they "really" liked watching it.
5. Patrick Swayze - This blog did a pretty good memorial for the Dirty Dancer. Love ya man!
6. Captain Lou Albano - I actually met the "Godfather of Wrestling" when as a teenager a white caddy stopped me on Main Street in Georgetown asking for directions to the Lewes Ferry.
7. John Hughes - Children of the '80s remember "The Breakfast Club", "Sixteen Candles", etc...
8. Natasha Richardson - actress dies at 45 after a skiing accident
9. Ron Silver - law and order
10. Steve McNair - don't start an affair with a young lovestruck crazy woman or you may find yourself shot
11. Bea Arthur - Took a lot of heat for her looks, but made a ton as "Maude" and the "Golden Girls"
12. David Carradine - I loved "Kung Foo" on Friday nights, ah so grasshopper. We all have our sexual secrets, let's hope we don't die during them like the "Kill Bill" actor.
13. Karl Malden - Biggest nose in film. If you watch movies, chances are you've seen him.
14. Jett Travolta - John's son. What a trajedy.
15. Ed McMahon - "Hi-Yo!"
16. Edward Kennedy - he got the chance to die naturally. not while drowning in a locked car
17. Dom DeLuise - go catch an old Dean Martin Show or watch Smokey and The Bandit II
18. Ricardo Montalban - "ah, corinthian leather", Fantasy Island, Khan, etc...
19. Walter Cronkite - the face of news in the 60's and 70's
20. DJ AM - That's ok, I never heard of him either.
21. Mary Travers - the "Mary" of PETER, PAUL, and MARY. Remember "Puff the Magic Dragon"?
22. Paul Harvey - The rest of the story is now over.
23. Billy Mays - how do you make a million bucks doing infomercials?
24. Danny Gans - supposedly big act in Vegas. I only ever saw him while playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am\
25. Jay Bennett - member of band WILCO.  Me either........
26. Henry Gibson - Goggle him and you recognize
27. William Safire - here's political figure for Bradley
28. Army Archard - ???
29. Dominick Dunne - author
30. Larry Gelbart - created M*A*S*H
31. Super Rocking Mr Magic - another rapping dj nobody will remember
32. James Whitmore - had the bird in his pocket in The Shawshank Redemption
33. Soupy Sales - comedian from 50's, 60's, 70's
34. Lucy Gordon - 28yr old Spider-Man 3 actress hung herself. Can it really be that bad at age 28?
35. Billy Powell and Donald Evans - 2 original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd who survivied horrific plane crash in 1977 which killed which killed several members..."What's your name, little girl....."
36. Les Paul - Jimmy Page played one, I had a 1959 model in college.......guitars silly!  Les Paul was Jimmy Hendricks on the guitar before there was a Hendricks. Early founder of the electric guitar and make of the Gibson Les Paul model....wish I still had mine, but I needed cash around the age of 22.
37. Marilyn Chambers - broguth porn to the fore front with "Behind The Green Door" in 1972. I was 6 and don't remember much from the film........
38. Ellie Greenwich - songwriter....."Leader of the Pack", "Da Do Ron Ron", .....

You lived, we loved, we give thanks!

Going into 2010 I wish for the following:

• A winning football season for the IRISH
• Some sense made of the BCS
• World Peace
• Playoffs for the Dolphins
• Packers meet the Vikings in the playoffs and Aaron Rodgers smoke Brett Favre
• Colts lose in the playoffs then their starters get the rest of the year off.
• To make a hole in one
• See Bradley Layfield hit a green in regulation.
• Delmarva Power to blow up!
• Orioles to finish above .500
• NBA refs to make a traveling call
• Hopefully less rain
• Happiness and good health to all I know....
