All I Want for Christmas is my 1, 2, or 3 !!!!!!!!!

This weekend the BCS got it's one and only Christmas present from Santa. The only one they were wishing for and the sons of bitches got it.

The BCS had it all setup going into this weekend and it looked like everything was going to workout for them. But, the Grinch (Nebraska) stepped in and almost ruined it for them.

The BCS got a huge break from the officials of the Texas/Nebraska game. I personallly think Texas should be out of it for being so stupind during the last 30 or so seconds.

The idiots had one time out and decided to screw aroound, take their time, and then run a rollout pass with like 6 seconds left. Then McCoy half ass throws the ball out of bounds and some how magically strikes a phantom piece of something which stops the clock at 1 second (allegedly).

The official review shows the ball land out of bounds as the clock goes from one second to zreo. Couldn't really tell if the ball hit anything other than the ground. The refs had about a half a second window to determine if there was one second left to run one more play or if the game ended with a Nebraska victory.

But the refs gave Texas one last shot and the BCS avoided having to choose between TCU and Cincy.

So they got they got their match up of 1 2 or 3 and they can still say the BCS system works.

My pick for the Heisman is the Ingram kid from Bama. He totally trashed Florida's #1 defense and has been lighting it up all year. Tebow shouldn't get it because he was crying like a little baby after the loss. And McCoy shouldn't get it because he totally masacred the last drive and almost lost the game. I love how he said after the game that he knew he had one second left when he threw the ball out of bounds. Tell you what McCoy... If you had a red N on your helmet that game, you would have lost!!!!

Til next time,

Dig It!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. The BCS did luck out with the way the Texas game ended. Its amazing everyyear all you hear is it would be a great year for a playoff. Yet no playoff. You can still have your bowl games and have playoffs at the same time. Come on Congress, you hold hearings on everything to do with sports except for maybe what is the most corrupt thing going in sports today. I will say though i would much rather watch a Bama Texas game then to watch TCU or Cincy against Bama.

    Ingram for Heisman!!!
    Tony Gerhardt Runner Up!!!
Those two put up great numbers with very little help for most of the year.

    Have A Day!!!!

  3. College football is clearly a flawed system. Year in and year out, we never truely have a national chmapion. I think the fix is simple, no plus one needed. Why don't they make every "FBS" team join a conference, and every conference have a championship game. Then take the conference champs and form a playoff system from that, using the polls or comptuer system to seed the teams. That way you can still have the bowls and a playoff at the same time.

  4. I couldn't agree with you anymore Anonymous!!! I have been saying it all year as well. I posted my similar plan some time ago on this blog.

It's real easy to do but the $$$$$ will never allow a playoff.

There are twelve conferences in D1 including the independent conference.

Take the winner of each conference and have a 12 team playoff.

If you can't win your own conference then tough shit!!!! You don't deserve to play for the national championship.

This is the by far the easiest and most simple way to have a playoff. No computers needed!!! It's how the NFL and high school football does it.

    Til next time,

I slept with Tiger Woods too!!!!!!!!!

  5. If we're not gonna have a playoff then let's go back to the way it was....Rose Bowl always had the Big Ten champ against the Pac 10 champ....Orange Bowl was Big 12 (then 8) against Independent then Acc champ... there was some tradition.

Now there's no playoff, clear champ, nor tradition!

How bout this....if they refuse to go to a playoff then how about cracking down on the nonconference schedule teams play. Maybe then we can weed out the annual pretenders like Boise St. Wow, they've played Wyoming, Utah St., North Dakota, etc... Florida played Charleston College earlier this year! Make'em schedule each other on the same level and we would have all the undeafeted teams at the end of the year.

  6. Screw tradition, lets see some playoffs. Its a joke right now that some confrences play a title game and some don't. Its so simple, make them play a championship game and let the champs form a playoffs. I understand that these are athletes that do not get paid a dime and should not have to play more game than what they already do, but here is my simple solution to this problem:

    1. Make all teams join a conference, no more independants or make the independant form their own conference.

    2. Every conference has a championship game, could you imagine the first weekend in December with all the game, it would be known as Championship weekend.

    3. Trim the regular schedule by a game or two, eliminating the cupcakes that teams play at the beginning of the year.

    4. Take a week off after the conference championships and start the playoffs, with the championship game still taking place at the same time the current BCS championship is played now.

    5. And if you want tradition, we still have the bowl system, the Rose Bowl would be 2 place Big Ten vs 2 place Pac Ten, which would still be a hell of game.

Its really quite simple, and to me more $$$ can be generated with a playoff system if done the right way.

    Till Next Time!!!
