WORLD SERIOUS

Well here we are....Nov 3, 3009 and the World Series is still on.....tomorrow night the Phillies will travel to New York and play the Yankees once again in Game 6 of this year's "classic"............I ask you,  "Are you really paying attention?"  "Is anyone other than the 48,000 fans attending the games really caring?".........I watch off and on, but let's face it, the season is waaaaaaayyyyyyy too long!!!!!!!!!.....................do they really still need to be playing in November?.........once not too long ago Reggie Jackson was called "Mr. October", not "Mr. Mid-Winter Break"!    ............Yes, you're probably the one who is a baseball fanatic watching Bob Costas on the MLB network...............here's my suggestions to save baseball:

  1. shorten the season from 162 games to 152. season would end a week and half earlier thus putting the end of the World Series squarely in the middle of October when some of us still care.
  2. make a decision on the designated hitter for both leagues.  however, watching a pitcher look spastic at the plate is not an option.  either have the DH or let pitchers bat, but be just like a regular player.  you want to tell me that the guys who make the majors as a pitcher have never know how to hit?   most of your best little league pitchers are the teams best player.   why are they treated with "kid glove" and not made to work on the hitting?   face it, starting pitchers only pitch every 5 days...what are they doing the other 4?
  3. require players to wear uniforms that fit.   cc sabathia looks like a f n clown!     whatever happened to the stirrup socks?
  4. no days off between world series games when the teams are as close to each other as Phila and NY.  Why do they need 2 days off when they are only 90 miles from each other?  Get the games done.
  5. get rid of Tim McCarver and Joe Buck from World Series telecasts.   Buck needs to lighten up and McCarver needs to put his stats book down for awhile.   who cares what  A-Rod did in the 7th inning of a game 3 years ago while it was raining and the temp. was between 50 and 59 degrees while he hat his hat on backwards and was taking a practice swing?
