Well, Thanksgiving is upon us. The college football regular season is coming to an end. The NFL is just about 2/3 of the way through the season. World Series is past. Does anyone even care about the NBA and NHL regular seasons?
Enjoy yourselves. Give thanks for all you have and for family. Watch how much you eat. But one thing is clear.......I hope there are some great Thanksgiving Day parades on! That's right! Some smash mouth out of sight floats to stir the emotions, a spectacular display by some unknown majorette.
Why? you ask? Because the NFL has seen fit to give us about the worst match-ups possible. The Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay at 1pm and then Dallas vs. Oakland at 4pm. I don't count the 8pm game between the Giants and Broncos because half of us can't even get the NFL Network if we wanted to watch and the other half will be snuzzing from eating too much turkey.
What in the H are they thinking? I can understand tradition. Yes, the Lions and Cowboys have been on Thanksgiving for over 40 years, but these games could actually turn a fan off to the NFL. How about scheduling the Lions vs. the Browns so at least the game might be competitive? How about designing the schedule so the 'Boys play the Eagles or Giants? 90% of America will be off work. Why not give us a real game?????
Even the college game on ESPN will be a dud. Texas who will probably play for the National Championship against a 6-5 Texas A&M team. Yeah, in state rivals, probably tight for first 10 minutes, then on the way to a final score of 35-17. Wow!
Oh well, there's always the Magic vs Hawks on TNT at 8pm........
