Well, it's finally here! The Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. The Trojans of USC. The grass in South Bend is high and the so are the hopes of The Irish Nation. Fritz, you have got to be salivating?? This game will be the true test for the Irish and whether or not Coach Weis will continue to reside in South Bend.

There is a lot of talk going on about this game and a lot of LONG TERM outcomes hinge on the play of the Irish.

- A win will definitely help Weis stay another year if the Irish can beat USC. A win also means Weis doesn't have to be perfect the remainder of the season but it would certainly help him. A close loss could still keep him around but he will no doubt have to win out.

- Jimmy Clausen (not to be confused with Timmy Clausen) has been thrown into the Heisman hype and needs a big win, and/or a huge performance, to warrant his worth. James is averaging 308 yds a game with 12 tds and only 2 picks. STELLAR!! Will the vaunted USC defense be to much for the Golden Boy? We will soon see!

- This game will certainly have a huge effect on the faithful Irish Fans' psyche. The Irish have lost the last 7 meeting to the Trojans by a combined score f 284 to 95. OUCH!! A win would send the fans into a rioting frenzy and a loss.... Well, the same!!

- The biggest thing ND could benefit from this weekend is recruiting. A win will certainly help the recruiting process and hopefully lure more play makers to town.

Good luck to the Irish and hopefully the will shove it down Pete Carroll's throat. It's been depressing to watch ND struggle but this could be the return of Irish Football dominance!?!?!?!?!?!
