IT'S EARLY, BUT IT'S MAKE OR BREAK TIME FOR SOME TEAMS IN THE NFL

Even though it's only week 3, this weekend could make or break some teams. There are quite a few 0-2 teams that should they lose again in week 3 could be out of a playoff spot already.  Hard too imagine, but 0-3 in the NFL is just too big a hole to climb out. A win doesn't guarantee success, but at least the patient stays alive, even if on life support.  Let's take a look:

St. Louis Rams (0-2):  Even with a win, don't look for a playoff run. This team just needs to show some improvement. Home this week against the Packers.  Don't think the Pack is Super Bowl bound, but hey, their in the hunt.  Rams go 0-3.

Detroit Lions (0-2): Ever wonder why you never see the Lions on Monday Night Football?   Because they're bad!   What have we got to do to get them off on Thanksgiving.  It really is a shame.  They're a historic team in the NFL.  In my opinion, like the Vikings, the lions lost toughness as soon as they started playing in an indoor stadium.  Winter in Detroit would be like having a 12th man.  Do you think say the Bucs, Cardinals, Cowboys, etc... really want to go to Detroit in December?
Host the Redskins this week.  This is intriging!  I say the home cooking is warm. Lions win their 1st of the year.  Zorn on th hotseat.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-2): OK, Giants coming into town.....Bucs have no aspiration of playoffs this year, coach has made rebuilding clear, however, fired offensive coordinator only 2 weeks before the season started.... Personally I like Brian Leftwich, but he'll be like a statue against the Giant rush...... Bucs go 0-3, Devil Rays wet the bed this year...all is normal in Tampa....

Carolina Panthers (0-2): Since having a few good playoff teams a few years ago, this team has done nothing to get better.....matter of fact has continued to go backwards every year since the Super Bowl year..... is John Fox still the coach?   How in the hell did they get scheduled for Monday night?    Get a good book, Cowboys bounce back in a BIG way...

Miami Dolphins (0-2): Hoe do you hold the ball on offense for 45 mins and yet give up 27 points and lose?....if you saw last Monday's gaem you saw......After 2 decades the Fins now seem to have a running game with Ronnie Brown and Ricky "Marley" Williams....problem is now they have no passing game...sorry, with Pennington at QB the Dbacks don't need to play more than 15 yards off the ball.....travel west to see the Chargers this week...can't stand the Chargers and Norv may be the worst head coach in football, but the Chargers have more talent......Fins go 0-3 and start seeing where they'll draft...

Kansas City Chiefs (0-2): Matt Cassel is playing hurt.   After him is Brodie Croyle?..... keep rebuilding.....they play hard, but just lack any skill position players and Larry Johnson is getting a shorter career with every 25plus carry day...visiting the Eagles with Mike Vick making his debut.....Eagles not as good as some thought, but enough to beat the Chefs......THIS GAME WON'T BE A DOG FIGHT... Chiefs go 0-3....

Cleveland Browns (0-2): I feel bad for this team.....some of you may be too young to remember the "dog pound" and old Municipal Stadium on the edge of Erie.  This city has seen some great football and years ago saw championships (yes the last was in the early 60s)..... sold a bill of goods hiring Mangini to coach...I mean did you see the Jets improve over the past 2 years?.....Let's keep this short.....travel to Baltimore, Ray Lewis and Joe Flacco offer to play "All Time" QB and Linebacker, yet lose big...0-3.....

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3): this team was on the verge about 3 years ago.....somebody tell me how Jack Del Rio is still the coach.... they've made dumb position moves and have bad game plans....play the Texans this week... if Matt Schaub doesn't get hurt, the Texans put up 30+ points and roll....sorry Florida....0-3 is easy to see....

Tennessee Titans (0-2): the best 0-2 team in America!....  lost 13-10 in Pittsburgh.....scored over 30 against the Texans and lose..... Jeff Fisher has competitive teams every year...playing the Jets in New Jersey so it's road game for both teams...this game may be the toughest of the week to call.... I picked Titans in my weekly picks, but man, I could see both win this game..... a low scoring game favors the Jets,  high scoring the Titans as Jets offense not ready to put up 30.... game could decide on weather. good weather means better scoring.... I say the Titans have too much pride to go 0-3..... staying alive at 1-2......

Amazing!   Out of all the 0-2 teams, I have the Lions as 1 of only 2 possible winners.  Even I am shaking my head, but the schedule maker is harsh......I only hope your favorite team is not one of the above.....

  1. I'm tired of dolphin fans and sports center continuing to talk about how the dolphins lost when they held the ball for so long. Is it really that shocking? The answer is Payton, and there isn't another quarterback close to him when the game is on the line. END OF STRORY..... Let's talk about how the Pats lost to the Jets, or will the skins ever score in the red zone. Jim Fritz could have called a better game then Zorn, what a joke.

  2. I predict the Skins will score 1 TD this week against the Lions and it won't be from within the redzone. Final score: Lions 24 Redskins 16. I think Zorn is not a bad coach. I just think he is over-thinking things. At the beginning of last year he mixed it up pretty good at play calling, but since has stunk!!!!!
