Good to see some college football talk on the Blog. Greatest time of the year. OU was a big upset and their fans could be in for a long season if Bradford is out for a while. The rest of the games seemed to go as predicted and the VT/Bama game was good til the end. I was surprised at how well the Berkley kid for USC performed. He was the #1 ranked QB and over all player coming out of HS last year. Playing well for USC in the PAC is not easy, especially as a true freshman. My Canes kick of monday against my brother's Noles. We are young, but experienced, and hopefully we can get back into the national spotlight. Kudos to your Irish!!! Hopefully they got their stuff together this year. It's good for college football when they are doing well (In my opinion).
I response to your Health Care Reform Blog, well...... I really can't say I agree or disagree. I have not followed it to much and tend not to follow to much of the news anyway. It all seems so neagtive and useless. People say we need to vote, voice our opinions, and we can make a difference. BS!!!!! No matter who we vote for or how much we complain the goverment and big business will always have the last say in the matter. You are right about the $$$ though. The drug companies make billions selling the drugs, the medical community and politicians get kickbacks and we suffer the costs. No matter how you get/pay for your insurance we all are getting screwed somehow. In fact I feel that way about all insurance. Yea, it's great I am covered in case of any emergency. If I get really sick, crash, my house explodes, or I die - I'm covered!! But what if none of those things happen to me (except for the dying part?) Why don't I get my, or some, of my money back over the years for being a healthy, careful, and safe person? Why is my money going to help pay for others who have these problems?? Don't know and I don't really care because IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!! I will just keep paying my money and pray nothing bad happens so my rates don't go up. Oh, I forgot about also paying for illegal aliens, people on welfare, prisoners, etc... Enough said!!!!!!!!!!
I had a interesting talk with a close friend the other day. It was about saving money and retirement. It was sprung by the recent passing of two people we knew very well. One was in his mid 50's and the other 29. We asked oourselves is it worth it to save save save for retirement or should you enjoy and spend while you are alive and kicking?? By all means I want to be set when I retire but I also feel I owe to myself and my family to enjoy our time now. Both my parents died at young ages and whatever they did or did not have for retirement, well it doesn't matter now does it? Just a thought!
I too would also like to give my heart felt sympathy to the Mitchell and Spicer families. I knew both Donnie and Chad very well and it is a great loss that both are gone.
Well, I look forward to future Blogs and your responses.
TAP, RACK, and DRIVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed the first week of games. There were some good match-ups for the first weekend. I also hope The 'Caines come back as they too are good for college football. Opening up with Florida St. is a gutsy move, unlike U of Florida who opened up with The College of Charleston or WVU playing Liberty! Glad to see OU lose, OSU Beat Georgia, and Navy give Ohio St. a great game. Go Middies!
