Another One Bites the Dust!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm a day late and a a dollar short but I just saw that #4 Ole Miss is yet another top ten team to get upset (sorry I got a 4 day old newborn at home and I don't know what day it is). Anyway, college football has certainly had a very interesting start and I don't look for the upsets to end. Saturday looks to have a few interesting games but nothing to spectacular. My Canes travel to Blacksburg to face the highly ranked Hokies. VT always has a killer defense but I think their offense is a little suspect. If The U steps it on defense they should get the win but I wouldn't be surprised if goes either way. Penn State faces Iowa so we can see what the Lions are all about. The Irish will battle Purdue in what usually is a good close game. Interested to see if Pete Caroll rushes his true frosh QB back into the mix even though he is nursing a hurt throwing arm. Great coaching Pete!! Lets ruin the kid who will be your QB for the next 3 to 4 seasons.

Looking at the NFL schedule, I am not overly impressed. The league already seems to be injury ridden and it's only been two weeks. The only hot game appears to be Vikings/49ers game. The only game with two 2-0 teams playing each other. One thing I do like about the season thus far is that it looks like the league is pretty even and no team is really standing out as a power house.

Is it just me or does Tiger Woods look bored as hell playing this week. As I've mentioned before this Fed Ex Cup crap sucks donkey crotch. I still don't get this point system and I thought the BCS was complicated. NBC.com has the scenarios for all 30 players if one is interested. You should see some of them. I don't get how you can be leading the whole thing by more than 1500 points coming into the final tourney (the tour championship), and then all points are "reset" so you are now leading by 250. The 6th place person, Padraig Harrington, has to win and Tiger finish tied for 2nd or worse OR he can finish 2nd and Tiger has to finish 9th or worse with Steve Stricker finishing tied for 4th or worse AND Jim Furyk finishing solo 4th or worse AND the winner coming from the 16 to 30 spot.
WHAT THE ---- YOU KNOW WHAT???!!!!!!!!
How can a 6th ranked guy finish 1st and the #1 ranked guy finish 2nd AND the 6th ranked guy win it all??? Not to mention that the 6th ranked guy was almost 5000 points behind #1 before the points were magically reset.

I'll tell why this is the way it is. I like Tiger and I feel he is by far the best player now and probably the best ever. BUT, this Fed Ex Cup points system was designed specifically for him. So if he was behind a little or a lot coming into the final tournament he would have a chance to win. Unfortunately this year the PGA could screw themselves. Tiger was ahead all year and ahead of almost everyone by a lot. Now if he doesn't finish in the top two he will probably be ousted.

Just my thoughts. Enjoy them!!

Til next time,

Watch out for crop dusters!!
